To say this product tasted like dirt is an understatement....it tastes like poo!! That said, it did make me numb, but the taste and gagging just wasn't worth it imo.

I'm a kava kava fan! I always have a sack of this powdered substance to help chill me out (I'm a tense person) and kava never fails to do that.It is also a better way to get "drunk" than drinking gut building alcohol. I've read that Vanuatu variety is the best legal type out there. From my own experiences with kava I'd say it is, along with Papua New Guinea variety. Always take the powdered root product as the kind that uses stems and leaves can cause liver damage. Using the powdered root has not been associated with any negative repurcussions.The only negative: powdered kava tastes like pure crap! After taking loads of it, however, your mouth will become numb and it will be less noticable.
