EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Polished, Atomically Flat Glass Stable, Reactive Surfaces These microarray slides for genomics, proteomics, diagnostics, drug discovery, or other microarray applications are polished to atomic flatness (+-20A) for a superior homogenous surface. Slides provide the ultimate surface for ultra-high density DNA and protein microarray manufacturing with ultra-low intrinsic fluorescence. They can be used for both in situ and ex situ synthesis and are ideal for gel and membrane coatings. Four chemistries are available: clean (untreated), aldehyde, amine, and epoxy. Slides feature finished edges, corner chamfer for unambiguous orientation, and precise open platform dimensions for compatibility with all major brands of microarrayers and scanners. They are manufactured in ISO Class 5 (FED-STD-209E Class 100/M3.5) cleanrooms with particle, humidity, and lighting controls and are subjected to rigorous testing. Slides are heat-sealed in antistatic packaging for long shelf life at room temperature. The 1X blocking buffer (16001-034) is designed to block glass microarray surface chemistries prior to protein binding and nucleic acid hybridizations to enable ultra low background. It is specifically recommended for use with the Epoxy 2 microarray substrate slides, but is compatible with other protein or DNA microarray surface chemistries. It will not react with proteins and DNA. The buffer is formulated with ultrapure reagents and purified by 0.2um filtration.
