| Woodworking Basics: Mastering the Essentials of Craftsmanship by Peter Korn (Author)
Based on a two-week course in woodworking fundamentals offered at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Camden, Maine, this book takes a traditional approach to teaching, with the idea that learning basic skills is essential to craftsmanship. In the process, the book covers all the bases, from working with hand tools to cutting dovetails. Over 250 color photos and drawings and two complete projects — a bench and a small cabinet — are included.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 6 reviews)
| Milwaukee 1/4" collet by Sheldon Dingwall 5 Stars October 12, 2008 I have several Milwaukee routers and several Porter Cable. The Milwaukee's have much less runnout than the PC's. They seem to run a little quieter too.
I needed a 1/4" collet, no one had one in town. I ordered one from a tool repair shop, the delivery was going to be a couple of weeks. I thought I'd see what I could find online as I could always use a spare. Amazon was the first source that came up. I ordered the collet and it was in my hands - in Candada mind you - in two days.
The collet is great, but I'm really blown away by Amazon's service.
| | works by fishpick (Upstate NY, United States) 5 Stars March 19, 2008 it is what it is - it works as expected - can't get overly excited... it's a 1/4" collet
| | Good collet by Jack P. Nunes (Herald, CA) 5 Stars August 07, 2007 I needed the 1/4" collet for my 3 1/2 hp milwaukee for some of the smaller bits I use. It works well as do all milwaukee products.
| | it works by G. Lauver (St. Louis, MO United States) 4 Stars May 14, 2007 This item appears well made and functioned well for the limted time of usage since purchase.
Just a warnning do not use this collet for prolonged time because the prior collet shatter after prolonged use when removing a bit.
| | Mine was backwards too! by Peter Einstein (Oregon) 4 Stars March 22, 2006 Like another reviewer's, my collet was shipped from the factory assembled improperly, with the collet inserted backwards in the locking nut. Ridiculous. I was quite nervous about reversing the piece without damaging the brand-new parts, but they are basically pressure-fitted, and can be removed and reinstalled with a pair of (strong) bare hands.
Now it works fine, although I find installation of bits more of a nuisance than with my Bosch router.
