| Bosch Advance Power Radio by Gustease (MN, USA) 5 Stars November 03, 2009 After purchasing many, many, CD-Radio portable radios for my staff in the dishroom - where wet, humid conditions rendered them worthless after a few months of service - I finally got smart enough to look for a weather-proof unit. After reading reviews on the Bosch, I decided to give it a try. The sound is great, the dishroom workers are ecstatic, and so-far-so-good with the humidity. Particularly nice is the MP3 player jack so the staff can listen to whatever they want if the radio isn't playing their favorites. As far as FM reception - we haven't had any problems and the dishroom is located well in the center of a large college student union in a rural area.
| | GREAT OUTDOOR RADIO by Barnie J. Latona (Slidell, Louisiana) 5 Stars October 06, 2009 Bought this radio for my deck and it does all That it said it would do. I power it with a 14 volt battery and it will last about 2 days between charging. Great reception and sound. My wife and I love it. Barnie
| | Jobsite Radio by BigBear (Ohio) 4 Stars August 29, 2009 It sounds good, looks Hi-Tech, is rugged, provides means to charge Bosch Battery Packs. Unfortunately it doesn't have input lines to work with external devices but for what it does, it does quite well.
| | Not fit for the purpose intended by Neal De Mills (Trinidad W.I) 2 Stars July 28, 2009 After all the bells and Whistles, and the smoke clears. I quickly realized that this unit is not even fit for the purpose intended.
I'm convinced that this radio is the poorest sounding radio on the planet earth. Right after I write this review, I intend on calling, "Ripley's Believe it of Not", and the Guiness Book of World Records. I',m sure this story will interest them both.
Just imagine, this unit is refered to as the, 'Advanced Power Job Site Radio". I would have been better off just purchasing an Ipod.
| | Have owned three, dissatisified by W. Heytens (Northeast, MS) 1 Stars July 25, 2009 I have owned three of these units, both the improved and the older style units. It is true what they say about very poor reception. I still have one of the analog tuner type dewalt radios, and it will work circles around both the older and the newer style Boschs. However, there were two reasons why I bought these radios, cd &mp3 player and charger. I can't keep the cd players running, charger works fine, except in cold weather, where even the radio won't play as if is powered by the charger. You have to warm it up to use it. One of mine died while I played it in the house the first weekend I had it. For a company that specializes in car stereo, I was extremely disappointed. And what is it with the 16 guage cord? I would rather have paid a bit more and got a quality product that Bosh is capable of making. I would not recommend this to anyone. I will be looking at a Milwalkee in the future. Have went thru 2 of three Bosch's and the Dewalt is still working. Also not as loud as I would like for a real construction type setting.
