I recently took a piece of an old leather belt and attached it to a strip of wood, making a good old fashioned strop. After applying a little of Flexcut Gold I started sharpening my kitchen knives. My knives are now able to cut a sheet of paper like a razor. It's quite satisfying and easy to do. Just hold the blade at about a 30 degree angle and strop against the grain of the strop on both sides of the blade. (Don't strop with the grain, you will but into the leather) Flex Gold is very aggressive and works fast. If the leather you are using is a light color, you will see it change to black very quickly, this is metal being left behind. A great product.
