Product Description
The active ingredient in this product is d limonene, a steam distilled byproduct of citrus peels, entirely of natural origin. Persons with known citrus allergies may be affected. This broad based insecticide product will cause mortality in most insects within 15 minutes. The active ingredient d Limonene (orange peel extract) destroys the wax coating of the insects respiratory system. When applied directly, the insect suffocates. The citrus fragrance of d Limonene acts as a repellent. Orange Guard is a water based insecticide. All ingredients in Orange Guard meet the GRAS (generally recognized as safe) standard set by FDA. D limonene is approved by the FDA as a food additive, and is found in products such as fruit cakes, cleaners, degreasers, air fresheners and pet shampoos. Orange Guard is 100 percent biodegradable and water soluble. Our tests showed no extensive or permanent damage to plants sprayed with Orange Guard. Orange Guard can be stored at normal room temperatures and can be applied at any temperature. Do not boil or freeze.

Worked on gnats by devil8ball

This product worked really well. I was having serious problems with gnats (and their eggs) in my houseplants, and nothing I did got rid of them. I ordered this product and after one use, GONE! All the gnats were gone and they have remained that way for over a week now. I provided the bottle to some friends and their experience was the same. Obviously I never used it on spiders or anything else, so I cannot speak to that, but gnats don't like this product. But I do...

I have found this product works well in controlling my soil ants from invading my house. I like the fact that it is not harmful to animals and or wildlife as I, also, use it outside.

I have only used this to kill ants. Does it work? Absolutely. The trick is to spray enough to make them wet. They will die quickly. To keep them from coming back, the area must stay wet, don't wipe it up. When I first used this, I made the mistake of wiping it up after a few minutes as instructed and they always came back as soon as it was wiped up. Spray along the wall into the crevices where they are crawling in and they will not use that route to get in. Porous surfaces are the best places to use this. For example, ants were attacking the water in the water bottle of my hamsters' cage (it's hot outside). I put the cage on some chux pads (absorbant pad on one side and water repellent plastic on the other), sprayed all around the cage. The ants kept coming in looking for water, but they can't get to the cage. They are all over the desk where my cage sits, but the cage is ant-free. On more than one occasion, I've had an army full of ants in my dog's 5 gallon tin of dog food. I simply spray the container all around the exterior, killing all ants it immediately contacts and any ants unfortunate enough to cross the wet path. All other ants are repelled and run in circles within the container and on the lid to eventually all die. Ants outside the perimeter are left to find another food source. The gallon size Orange Guard container comes with a manual spray pump attached by a thin flexible hose. I thought I'd be using it to refill my quart size bottle, but the spray handle is handy. I don't have to pour it out into a smaller bottle. Beware to shut off the spray nozzle before storing it. I neglected to do that and the Orange Guard leaked through the pump all over my laundry room. You know how those manual vacuum hoses they use to clean out fish tanks work? That's what happened with the Orange Guard. Orange Guard is the only ant killer spray I use in the kitchen. It can get messy, but it works; and I don't worry so much about the kids and the dog. I do have one word of caution: this spray smells like strong citronella. Do not use it if you are sensitive to such fragrant scents.

We only use natural, safe products, and this has meant quite a challenge with the fleas as we live in their perfect climate, it seems. We spray this spray all around the house and it keeps them at bay. I am not sure they can ever be fully eradicated here, but every vet it town is still sporting signs inviting you to come in for the latest poison. Meanwhile, we are not itching and our cats are happy again.

I bought this product 4 years ago when we had major issues with ants invading our kitchen. I had a dog then and a toddler so I was concerned about pesticides around them. I must admit that I was very skeptical but the product works! Every spring the ants return and start invading our kitchen. I had to deal with them all through the summer months too, but with the Orange Guard they are gone. I spray all around the entrance doorway to keep them from coming in the house and it works. The only issue is that when it rains outside, the orange guard washes away and then the ants return. As long as I spray around the trail they use to get in, they don't return. This is a great product to kill aunts. I do not dilute it when I use it. I spray where I see ants and let it air dry. I spray all around our kitchen table and even the table legs since the ants like to crawl around the table. This product is great... Only issue this is not good for Spiders. Mind you, the bottle does state its good for ants, roaches and as a flea repellent and it doesn't say anything about spiders. I sprayed this on spiders and it does nothing to them. So if you need an ant repellent this product is for you, if you have spider issues...move on!
