I've been in construction all my life and used these masks in a woodworking environment to protect me against the toxic wood dust. When I moved and began to live alone - and without lawn service - I found I needed to use particle maskes to protect me while mowing and sweeping.
After using masks from the dollar store and a major home store I remembered these great units. I went on Amazon and bought a box. I am very satisfied.
While the cheap masks and the ones from the home store (which cost $1.50 each) suffered from poor coverage and loose fitment, the 3M 8000's cover throughly and the moldable heavy duty metal nose piece makes a strong seal at the bridge of the nose preventing fogging of glasses or goggles. Plus, they have two elastic bands. One for the neck and the other for the head above the ears. The cost per mask is only about fifty cents and they can easily be used three times before becoming soiled to a point of needing to be discarded.
I highly recommend these impressive professional masks.

Status unknown. Purchased because of H1N1 virus. Don't have any expectations for success. Purchases for peace of mind. What I have read, says the use of the N95 mask has no value and to have value it would requires a 20 minute fitting, which is able to be done. Failure is impossible because expectations are missing. Rating is also impossible without expectations.

If you are going to paint, sand or use any power equipment that makes dust you should treat yourself to a box of these disposable masks. Keeps small particles out of your nose and lungs.

Works fine with dusting, sanding and doing routine work where lots of dust is involved.
Worked great while cleaning the vacuum clearer bags. Would recommend to anyone who wants dust free breathing.

I read some of the reviews saying this product can be bought cheaper elsewhere. I had already put my order in but Googled it before ordering. Sure enough, it can be bought at ACE Hardware online for $13.85. I bought it from ACE. Then I came back to Amazon to cancel the order I had on record and typed in 3M8000 Repirator and another the screen showed another seller offering it at the same price as ACE, $13.85. So, out of curiosity, I typed in just Respirators and it took me back to a screen showing the same item on sale for the $19+ I had seen originally.
