| The house and the dog too! by D. Lew (alameda, ca) 5 Stars June 15, 2009 Lets face it people. We live in an unstable world. The economy is going to the toilet, housing prices sinking as fast as the economy, consumer confidence at an all time low, and lets not forget the crazy Kim Jong Il from North Korea and his "new" and improved nuclear weapons. So with all the fear and uncertainty that exist in this world we live in I decided to purchase this tape to protect my family. I purchased the $500 box of tape because this is just a great deal! What would the US government pay for this? $1,000? $2,000? $10,000?? Certainly not! To my surprise I found out that the government pays $100,000 for 1 roll!!! I figured if the government pays that much then at $500 for a case this must be a steal!
After receiving the box of Nuclear tape from Amazon I quickly strategized how I would tape the whole house. Yes, you read that right. The entire house! It was not easy and I would not suggest everyone to do this unless you have a lot of time like me. It helps when you "pretend" to be injured and is on worker's compensation. But in any case it was an arduous process since my house is over 4000 sq. feet. It took me at least 3 days to finish the job and I must say I'm very happy with the results. My house instead of having sidings now is a solid light blue color. I don't need to clean the windows any more since there are no more windows thanks to this magnificent tape. Now some people may ask how do I know for sure I have everything covered? Well, I set off a small nuclear war head in the vicinity of the house and the radiation detected in the house was negligeble. This super strong tape also helped with withstanding the power of the explosion. I can't say the same thing for the outside where there was once a neighborhood. If there's a hell then it would probably look like my neighborhood. I urge you not to play with nuclear war heads. It'll blow your fingers away. Leave that to trained professionals. If you're buying from Amazon to prepare for the next armageddon make sure to use your Amazon Visa card and get reward points! Every $2,500 you spend you automatically get $25 in amazon gift certificate back.
Summary: The tape works. It protected the house from certain doom and its occupants. Don't tape your whole house if you don't have time. It might be better to just tape yourself and your loved ones from head to toe.
| | Doesn't stop gamma rays by Ian C. Guch (VA) 1 Stars May 23, 2009 As I do most Sundays, I was working in the back yard on the grill. Because the dude next door is an Al Qaeda operative and he doesn't lock his shed, I figured, hey, what the hell, let's beef up the grill with some bomb grade plutonium. Because I didn't have anything handy to hold it in place, I stuck it down with this 3M nuclear duct tape. After all, I don't want my burgers exposed directly to radiation!
That seemed like a good idea at the time, but when I threw a steak on the grill, not only was the steak cooked way too quickly, but the gamma rays jumped right through the tape and caused the steak to start glowing. It also tasted funny, so I can't say I recommend this product at all!
| | I didn't know you could get a Nuclear grade by Donald J. Patterson III (Southern California) 5 Stars February 26, 2009 At first I believed my professor when he said that I couldn't get anything better than an A+. Now I know the truth. There is a secret nuclear grade to which I must aspire.
| | The Wisdom of the Hive by M. Cole (Saint Paul, MN) 5 Stars February 25, 2009 As capitalism collapses around us and society falters, I began to get anxious about what supplies I should have on hand now that the turnips are planted. I was guided towards the 3M Nuclear Duct Tape, bound to be useful when the reactors start melting down, and then saw Amazon's superb "What Did Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item" list. I was thunderstruck! Of course! In the end times, I'm going to need an electric toothbrush, a Rubik's cube, and a Swiss Army knife! Not sure the Midnite Minichamp is the one I'd go for, though, it doesn't have a toothpick, and dental hygiene will be critical in the coming collapse. Maybe I'll get my Nuclear Duct Tape in red to match the knife, it always pays to look well put-together.
Man, sure hope the tape is back in stock before Power Down.
| | SLATE BLUE better than RED tape by Geoffrey Edwards 5 Stars February 24, 2009 If you're a nuclear technician and a Democrat, there's no better high-performace duct tape for your facility than the SLATE BLUE nuclear duct tape. I was happy to see the new administration give this product its endorsement, after so many years of having to make do with the previous administration's insistence that only the RED "nucular" duct tape (http://www.amazon.com/3M-Performance-Nuclear-48-Millimeter-54-8-Meter/dp/B000NG61G8/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_0_0) was approved for use in vital reactor locations. The safety advantages of the SLATE BLUE nuclear tape are obvious to even the lowest-level tech; in tests we found that a liberal use of the SLATE BLUE nuclear tape met or exceeded the standards set by the NRC, compared to the conservative applications of RED tape recommended under the guidelines furnished by the previous administration. With the SLATE BLUE tape, we can radiate confidence that our repairs will hold.
