| Nice little flashlight with one major flaw by Jeff Stricker 3 Stars November 27, 2009 The flashlight is extremely small and shockingly bright for its size. It seems sturdy and very well made; even the attached clip works well. Sadly, since this is a "screw the cap to turn the light on" type of flashlight, the cap can fall off extremely easily (at which point all of the batteries also fall out). I had the light attached to my key chain for about a week. At that point I looked down at my keys and all that remained was the empty case attached to the key ring.
| | Handy light for, well, everything by Steve Simpson 5 Stars November 27, 2009 Clip it to your keys, hold it in your had or even clip to the inside of a car hood, this light is so handy, I'm not sure how I got along without it! Sure, it takes two hands to turn it on or off, but I've used it for many useful activities in the last two weeks.
| | Tiny, bright, and cheap, but comes apart too easily :( by John Colby (Los Angeles, CA) 3 Stars November 24, 2009 There are lots of reviews that have summed up the positive aspects of this device very well. In short, it is bright, tiny, and cheap! =) However, I was wary because the majority of the negative remarks were about it coming apart (due to the fact that you have to loosen it to turn it off). Nevertheless, I bought one to test out because this thing just screams "stocking stuffer" and I was hoping to get a few for my family.
Knowing the possibility of the body coming loose, I was VERY careful with this device when I got it. I made sure to just loosen it barely enough to turn it off, and was even a bit more mindful with my keys since I put it on my keychain. Unfortunately, even with this extra care, the Streamlight came apart on me within 1 week of receiving it. =( Luckily it was in my packet and I didn't lose any of the tiny batteries, but it's only a matter of time... Also note that I don't really do much with my keys besides put them in my pocket at the beginning of the day and take them out at the end, so I would expect a good number of people to even have a harder time keeping the Streamlight together than I have. I have thought about maybe putting a small rubber band around it, or perhaps doing something clever with tape
Ultimately, I wish they would have made the device cost a bit more (I would gladly pay double!) but include a tighten=off mechanism. With the price so low though, you can't complain too much...just don't expect it to last more than a couple months on your keychain.
As for me, I will gladly keep the handy Streamlight on my keychain for as long as it will last me; however, I am going to pass on buying another handful for gifts (don't want to hear "It came apart on me..." a half dozen times over the next few months...) ;)
| | 100th Review! by Mark Luhan 5 Stars November 22, 2009 Just Awesome!
But, if you are looking for a single hand switch look somewhere else.
| | Ridiculously bright for something so tiny! by PixelBrat (Ellijay, GA) 4 Stars November 15, 2009 Wow, this flashlight is ridiculously bright for something so tiny! I'm very impressed. It was much smaller than I thought, which makes the brightness that much more amazing. I would give this flashlight 5 stars if it had a button to turn it on rather than the twisting action. Being able to use it one handed and without worry that it would come unscrewed in your pocket would be a big plus. Otherwise, great flashlight.

| Streamlight 72001 KeyMate LED Flashlight, Black by Streamlight
Remember that little flashlight your grandma had on her keychain? Remember the sad little pool of brown light it produced? This is not that flashlight. This one-ounce keychain flashlight is engineered to put up to four times the illumination of a typical keychain flashlight (the company rates its light output at 10 lumens). It's sturdy, too, with an anodized aluminum case, unbreakable polycarbonate lens, and O-rings to keep the moisture out. The high-intensity LED is rated to last up to 100,000...
