Aquasana AQ-4100 Shower Filter was voted "Product of the Year" by Cosmetology Today Magazine! This unique 2-Stage shower water filter is US Patented, has a high filtering capacity and is easy to install. No tools necessary, although pliers may be helpful. The granular copper/zinc and coconut shell carbon replaceable water filter effectively removes 99% of Chlorine, reduces VOC`s, heavy metals and other chemicals, as well as enhancing pH.
Stage 1 removes chlorine and enhances pH balance with a natural copper/ zinc mineral media called KDF-55D. The second water filtration stage uses a carbonized coconut shell media for the removal of synthetic chemicals and VOCs that vaporize and can be inhaled or absorbed through the skin potentially causing adverse health and cosmetic effects.
Without the harsh influences of chlorine youll notice significant cosmetic benefits. This Aquasana AQ-4100 was a snap to install and works exactly as advertised...it turns your water into something worthy of putting on your body everyday. Skin feels fresh and not breathing vaporized chlorine is a definite plus. Also, water pressure was effected only slightly which was a concern before I purchased it. Overall, a great product.
As a sidenote to whoever wrote the review claiming that this filter and the Jonathan Beauty Water are identical, that is simply a false statement. They are both made by the same company but to different specs. The JBW uses an ATC(Anomorphous Titanium Silicate)filter media where as the Aquasana uses a cheaper CSC(Coconut Shell Carbon) filter media. However, I have read reviews for the JBW on other sites stating that it wears out quicker than the Aquasana. So, I went with endurance over beauty and so far I'm glad I did.

Live in SE FL, on city water but lately they are using so much chlorine that during a hot shower I could really smell the chlorine and after a shower my skin would burn very badly, dry out, and crack.
Could smell and feel the difference after the 1st shower after we installed the water filter. So far it's working great and I don't smell any more chlorine and my skin doesn't burn anymore!

Highly recommended for reducing tap water pollutants and increasing water softness! After applying this filter and trying it out I was amazed at the difference. The water was quite soothing and soft on the skin. After my shower I could tell my skin was not dry and stripped of it's oil and felt nourished.
Great buy! Don't waste your money on more expensive brands, this works as expected!

I purchased one for myself and one for my daughter. Both required replacement parts within one month of use (mine twice). Leakage has also been a constant problem. Now that the warrantee is expired, I have an unrepairable item that will require replacement of the entire unit. Under warranty coverage Aquasana promptly sent the parts out, nevertheless, the use of flimsy plastics has become a part the engine that keeps our economy fluid at the cost of environmental peril (production of harmful chemical pollutants and no way to properly recycle). I would love to see a product that sells for 10 times the price, but that lasts a lifetime. All showers filters are thusly manufactured and so Aquasana is the lesser of many evils.
