CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 3.5 based on 20 reviews)
| To fix the auto turn off problem by R. Micznik 4 Stars November 07, 2009 Received two of these units and they both turned themselves off after one cycle of the lights. The fix that worked for me on both units was.
1. Pry off top surface
2. Remove batteries being careful to remember which surface of the battery was up
3. Leave batteries out of unit for one minute
4. Replace batteries, but reverse the position (put the previously top battery on the bottom)
5. Make sure you press down for at least 30 sec. to activate the unit
Should work fine after that
| | Poor battery life - avoid by CeanothusBlue 4 Stars October 09, 2009 This started out as a 4-star rating, but after only two weeks I've come back to edit it. I can't change the star rating, but if I could, it would be one star now. After using this light for only two weeks the light gradually got dimmer and today it died. If this is the battery life you can expect - two new lithium batteries every two weeks! - I would strongly recommend against this light.
| | piece of junk by Dr. Mom (Berkeley, CA) 1 Stars September 29, 2009 First, I bought this item at a pet store, it had no instructions on the package about holding the light to turn off the "try it" mode. I found that on the company website, but the light still always goes off after thirty seconds.
After seeing the review here I gather this is a major quality control issue and will return the light and look for another brand.
| | You will likely need more batteries. by L. Syverson (Denver, CO) 3 Stars September 25, 2009 The light is bright and glows many different colors. Unfortunately ours died within a few minutes after opening the package. A new set of batteries at our local store cost as much as the light. We use it to clip on our black dog so we can see where she is when she is outdoors. It works well for that purpose. We haven't used it much so we don't know how often the batteries will need to be replaced.
| | never a problem by bargainhunterva (va) 5 Stars September 15, 2009 I have one that is more than a year old with original batteries. I like them so much I got another.
I mainly use these as tent lights. One provides plenty of light for my big car camping tent while preserving night vision and diffuse enough to prevent tent shadows. I clip it on the loft and leave it on as soon as it's dark. At bedtime, it goes out. I have put a lot of time on these.
I also clip it on my grandson at night. It is for tracking him, not for a personal light. This is NOT a flashlight.
I have been more than happy with probably a dozen or more Nite Ize products.
