I bought two of these meters and they never read the same. Eventually I threw one out that I knew was reading incorrect. However, the remaining one sometimes shows the soil is dry even when the pot is overflowing with water. It is definitely a hit or miss reading; sometimes accurate somtimes not.

I believe the other reviewers hit it right on the mark - this moisture meter is not worth your money - no matter how cheap the price. I too can only get it to read up to a 2, even in a glass of water. I would say, strike three on the "Rapitest Mini moisture Tester"!

Rapitest Mini Moisture Tester - Probe broke soon after purchase. I got inconsistent results before it broke. Side by side tests had one plant dry (1) and the other wet (4). I wish I'd checked the previews before I bought it.

I gave this moisture meter as a gift to a friend/neighbor who is always generous about sharing her plants with me. She says it works well... so, now I think I'll buy one for me!!

This moisture meter is invaluable in telling whether a plant needs water or if it shouldn't have any more water at all for a while. It is so important to water plants properly to keep leaves from turning yellow and loosing leaves or losing the plant altogether. The moisture meter tells me exactly what I need to do as far as watering each plant.
