Product Description
Operating your Quark AA is simple. Make sure its batteries are inserted with the positive side (+) toward the head. Ensure the bezel (the 'head' of the light) and tailcap are tightened, then depress the tailcap button fully so that it 'clicks' and the light turns on. The two most commonly used modes are Max and Moonlight, the highest and lowest modes. To access Max, you simply tighten the bezel. To access Moonlight, you just loosen the bezel a half-turn. That's it. Give it a try now by cycling back and forth between Max and Moonlight. You can also cycle through the Quark's other modes just as easily. Lightly depress the button momentarily (you don't need to 'click' it off) and the output will switch to the next mode. The mode sequence is determined by whether the bezel is tightened or loosened: Loosened Bezel: Moonlight - Low - Medium - High - SOS - Beacon. Tightened Bezel: Max - Strobe. Once the Quark has been turned off for at least three seconds, it will revert to the first level of output in the sequence, either Moonlight or Max.

Verrrrrrrrryyyyy good light for the money. by J. Phillips (Virginia) 5 Stars

As an owner of both many Fenix and Surefire lights, I can tell you that for EDC, this little light can't be beat. As the other reviewer mentioned, the moonlight mode (0.2 lumens) is probably the best feature. Although I wouldn't take this light into combat with me (and no, Im not a member of the armed forces), I would have no problem trusting my life to this light for EDC. I'll reserve "combat" duty for my Surefires (most likely an incandescent, for better color rendition).

Good but not survival grade by Konrad Haskins (Seattle Area) 4 Stars

This is a good flashlight. The only reason I bought it is that Surefire does not offer a AA model. This is small enough that you can reverse the clip and clip on to a baseball cap. For the price and features it's a good product. The run time on the lowest moonlight setting is insanely long. Your time will depend on the quality of battery you use. The advanced features act a little quirky (-1 star). The more features the less reliable. If your survival depends on the quality of your flashlight buy a Surefire.
