EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Our best all-in-one music system is now even better. The Acoustic Wave® music system ll offers more lifelike sound for larger spaces, with improved functionality and versatility, yet remains refreshingly simple to use.
Acclaimed waveguide speaker technology still lies at the heart of this system's performance, so it rivals the sound of much larger, more complicated stereos. An all-new Bose digital platform fine tunes the sound for more accurate, consistent music reproductioneven at louder volume levels. Vocals sound cleaner. Instruments ring truer. The result comes closer to music in a natural, live-performance setting.
The Acoustic Wave® music system ll plays your home-burned CDs as well as regular discs and AM/FM radio. You'll find a new headphone jack for private listening, auxiliary inputs and an updated informational display. A variety of accessories adds to your listening enjoyment at home or on the go. And you can add our optional 5-CD changer for even more continuous listening.
The system hasn't changed in size or convenience. It still fits almost anywhere in your home, easily controlled from across the room by a credit card-sized remote. It accomodates your MP3 player, travels easily and goes portable with the optional power pack.
The original Acoustic Wave® music system changed opinions of what a quality stereo system could be. Now, the Acoustic Wave® music system ll challenges our perceptions once again, with sound that comes even closer to the essence of live performance. |

| mike's wish by Beardie 5 Stars November 14, 2009 These sound so good my husband with love them and he is a very discerning musician.
| | Bose will be Bose by Run and Dance (Middle GA) 1 Stars November 05, 2009 I bought one of these because my girlfriend wanted one. The first thing I noticed was that there is no way to control the equalization. I wrote Bose about it and got a response. And I quote, "The radio's equalization circuit is integral to the overall acoustical properties of the radio, and it was felt that additional controls would detract from, rather than add to, the sound quality." So I'm stuck with "sound quality" that some engineer determined would be best for me. I can't boost the bass to hear the bass better or the treble to hear the high hat and cymbals better. My older ears can't hear the high frequencies as well as they used to. But we are keeping it because my girlfriend has an affinity to wires running all over the place and that is about the best thing I can say about it. Also, the display is on the top so you can't see what volume level it is on or what radio station without getting up and walking over to it. Also, there is no clock and no sleep timer; something that an item that costs this much could easily have included. To me it was a waste of money...but it is an excellent status symbol.
| | More hype than substance by F. Kirschbaum (Wayne, PA) 2 Stars October 14, 2009 First, I like to think I take good care of my ears (you should too) and I have good hearing. If you are like blasting your mp3 player, almost any music system may sound good to you. Like all Bose products, its construction and build quality are top notch. It was easy to set up and to use. The sound quality is okay. there are better systems for less money. The future is WIFI radio. You are mainly buying the bose name and all that advertising you see in print and on tv.
Also, Bose seems very slow to keep up with basic technological updates. This radio should have HD capabilities.
| | Fills My Dining Room with Gorgeous Sound by Sophie Cacique Gaul (Austin, Tejas) 5 Stars July 17, 2009 When my family, husband, twin daughters and me, decided to move from Montreal to Austin, we had some major decisions to make. What to take, what to sell. We had a couple top flight stereo systems, a 5.1 surround sound system to beat the band, my camera gear, -- I had "L" everything, three bodies and lots of other terrific lenses -- and a decade's worth of pretty nice stuff that we'd accumulated. We were pretty well off, but not rich, not even upper middle class. This move was a big deal for us. My husband had a new job, but what about me? I was losing a pretty good income.
But Austin, what a wonderful city. And it's warm. We decided to go for it, so we sold everything we could, reaped a small fortune on eBay. So bye bye, beautiful sounding music, bye bye my cameras and the gear I loved.
That was a couple years ago and we're doing okay now, better than okay. We have back a new big screen TV, a new surround sound system, but we still have beaucoup de rooms that need good music and on a THELMA AND LOUISE type driving trip with my friend Katie I discovered the Bose Wave Radio System. We stopped at the outlet stores at Woodburn, a city south of Portland, Oregon and when I walked into the Bose store I was blown away. I listened to everything and when I got back to Houston I made some major purchases, it's nice to have some money again.
We dine on an old marble topped coffee table and it's the only thing in the room. We sit on the floor, usually use chop sticks, it's very Japanese. I bought the Bose Acoustic Wave System II with the 5-CD changer for that room. It sits on an end table in the corner and fills the room with with gorgeous sound. I'm new to Bose, but I'm liking their stuff a whole lot. It's compact, delivers great music and the little remote works like a charm. I couldn't be happier.
| | Outstanding! by D. Shear (USA) 5 Stars June 10, 2009 I have read online from websites like Cnet some reviews of the Bose Acoustic Wave II music system and it is clear to me that many of the reviews are made by people who are not audio-aficionados. The point is that this acoustic wave music guide accurately reproduces life like sound. In short, when I read a criticism like, "there are no bass are treble controls", then it is clear that some people do not understand this audio technology. On the other hand, other manufactures utilize technologies that bolster unnaturally the bass, treble and mid range settings. Furthermore, if one would acquire a CD from say Pat Metheny or the Pat Metheny Group (it should be noted that Pat and his team are most likely at the top the music industry in terms of Audio Producing as the sound quality of all his is work is outstanding) and play it in a Bose Acoustic Wave II Music Guide system, in a large room with reasonable to good acoustics and at a high volume, then I am very confident that many people would be incredibly impressed.
