| Disposable Cigarette Filters by Happy Shopper (Massachusetts) 5 Stars October 26, 2009 Afer using these for awhile, you won't want to be without them. Watching the filter turn a nasty brown makes you grateful that the tar isn't entering your lungs or staining your teeth; and merely sniffing a slightly used filter cuts the craving in places where you cannot smoke.
| | Yes/No by Otis Boxer (Shasta Lake, CA) 3 Stars September 25, 2009 I bought 2 and contrary to what some other reviewers said I haven't found any defective ones.
The filters do capture Tar and don't seem to affect taste.
The reason for 3 stars is that I bought them to help me quit smoking but so far that part hasn't had a direct effect. It did get me paying attention to my smoking and I have realized that it has a lot to do with my behavior. Behavior that has developed over time and I suppose that it will take time to stop by breaking my behavioral habits one at a time. Here are a few examples. Smoke when I wake up, have coffee, after a meal, when I get in the car, when I take a break, while waiting, in the john etc. etc. etc.
With that said:
1) The product does what it claims and does capture Tar.
2) Doesn't affect taste.
3) None that I got were defective.
| | Won't smoke without them now by Compulsive Toy Shopper (West Virginia, USA) 5 Stars September 20, 2009 The Venturi filters are great. I actually can't believe I am still smoking after seeing the sticky brown tar that collects in the filters. It smells awful too! They are disposable, but if you are up for the abdolutely disgusting job, you can clean and reuse them. I popped the orange things out with a toothpick, soaked, cleaned with Qtips and rolled up papertowels and toothpicks. Total pain, probably not worth it but I had run out and I was desperate.
| | TarGard mini filters by C. Riley-DeGier (Morris, Mn.) 4 Stars September 10, 2009 I can't smoke a cigarette with out using the filter anymore I was hoping it would help more with quitting smoking, But the tar it stops is worth it..... After about 4 cigarettes the filter is black and gross, I can't imagine Getting that crap in my lungs anymore....
| | I'm never without them by E. L. Hamann (Priest River, ID United States) 5 Stars August 03, 2009 I started using the TarGard mini disposables about 2 months ago and what a difference they've made. They do remove a lot of the tar, as you can see visibly in the filter chamber. They do not change the taste of your cigarette, and after getting used to them, you adjust your draw so your cigarettes taste the same. These are a great product and I highly recommend them if you are going to continue to smoke.
*note: I tried the larger targard filter with removeable parts and the metal filter is larger. My cigarette kept falling out of it, so I've gone back to the mini filters.
