| Definitely a time and energy saver! by M. Forgit (Indiana) 5 Stars November 07, 2009 With the fuel and gas prices soaring I have found this a great alternative. It has performed flawlessly from the get-go. The instructions are very helpful and mine came with a mini-recipe book to get started. Always cooks evenly and I like the options available on the key-pad as well; very easy to understand. Thanks for a great product Panasonic!
| | It works well but seems a little tinny by H. J. Paradis 4 Stars October 26, 2009 Compared to our 30 Year old Litton it cooks and warms much faster, almost too fast but after we get used to it adjusting the output should remedy that. It looks nice as well, but being 1/2 the Weight of the Litton it is a tad flimsy.
| | Died after one year by Jzano (San Francisco, CA USA) 1 Stars October 18, 2009 This died on us after one year. We purchased this microwave 11 months ago. It was fine and we had no issues with its service. It did disrupt our wireless computers, causing hi-speed cable internet service to disconnect. But last night while re-warming a small portion of mashed potatoes in Gladware, the heating component just stopped. The microwave itself is not totally dead as the clock still works. Bottom line is that after doing all the manual-related diagnostics, my microwave is dead and it will cost as much to fix as to buy a new one. Welcome to the 21st century world of substandard everything, including appliances.
BTW, I only used the microwave at dinner time for re-warming and later in the evening for microwave popcorn. Usage was not excessive or abusive.
| | My new replacement Microwave oven: Panasonic 2.5 cu ft, by L. Zollner (Tampa, Florida, USA) 5 Stars October 07, 2009 I've had my new microwave a few weeks now...still learning some of its operations. There are two things I have discovered I don't care for: 1. That there is no handle on the door which also operates the latching mechanism to the oven and 2. That crazy little message when something is finished being nuked "Enjoy Your Meal." Apparently I'm stuck with the message...there's no 'back door' with deleting or changing the message. What I do like especially about this oven is the interior size and the (apparent) strength of the motor driving the turntable given weighty dishes of food.
This machine replaced my dearly departed Amana Radar Range II, which I got brand new in the very early 1980's and used until its recent and somewhat abrupt and unexpected death. I miss the handle-latch which worked well on the Amana.
| | Great Microwave! by Sqqzieq 5 Stars August 26, 2009 I am VERY pleased with this microwave by Panasonic. The manufacturing is high quality and the large size is perfect. Also, being 1250 watts I have been able to shorten cooking time on a lot of things. The "Genius" settings for reheating, cooking, and defrosting work very well. The defroster setting really does just defrost and not partially cook food. All-in-all, you can't go wrong with this quality product.
