Bought this as a replacement for a similar fan for use to ventilate a window-less laundry room with two dryers in our condominium building. The other fan (purchased at Ace Hardware store) had a detacheable connecting cord, with the female plug at the fan housing being a very miniature size. Unknown hands had disconnected this plug (for unknown reasons) and then damaged the male pins in trying to re-connect it. Shoddy design.
This fan has a permanently connected power cord. It is relatively quiet, even at the highest speed setting. The fan subassembly can be tilted in the base, and retains its position by some ratchet mechanism. This is an additional plus in our installation because we can angle the discharge air blast up a little (the fan is mounted in a wall opening maybe 4 feet off the ground), minimizing the effect on people entering through the building access gate on the garage level, through which we are trying to exhaust the humid air.

I was very happy with this purchase. Great product, fast shipping. The only negative would be the power cord could be a couple feet longer.

i have 2 of these cyclone fans in the store [ 65 x 35 x 12 ] AND am using these to repllace the #2220 high velocity fans - as my other reveiw how the hi velovicty ones died and cant replace the moters - so for 30.00 compaired to 112.00 .... yea, i am happy - but on high - the sound is a tad more - but comfort is what i need in hot humid penna temps - and in the store - it helps out -- as a small portable 12,000 btu air conditioner is the only thing really cooling of the store when outside is in the mid 90's ... but all in all .... i am a happy customer of lasko - tho i was mad i was not able to repair the #2220 model - yes, i tore it apart to the motor electromagnet and cleaned it thougoughly, and tested the wires, etc, it was a small black thermostat on the unit - only needing replaced -- but i cant get that part ... so for my money -- 30.00 is good enough to not cry ovr tossing out in the trash when these dont work - oh yea, radiator heating - and dust -- so i tear apart all my units on a regular basis - i am not dumb when it comes to electronics ... oh and even has a nice tilt factor to this model -- the other one #2220 - used to walk on the wood floors - unless the base was taped down --- well commercial high velocity - to the consumer model -- i am sticking with the consumer model - also a 2 pin plug - no need to keep looking for the grounder plug to convert it either ... this fits in all sockets....

I bought 2 fans. They were to replace older version which was vearing out after 11 years. These fans are so quiet and push so much air. They really help keep the air circulating and decrease the amount of time the air conditioning needs to be on. Just great fans.
