You get three traps, each 2 3/4 x 12 inches. Remove the paper backing and attach the sticky edges together as per instructions on back of box, then set trap where you see abundance of fruit flies. We placed our trap on top of the discarded fruit pits, skins, and other fruit and vegetable wastes that we toss into a large bowl on top of our kitchen counter until full enough to take out to our compost bin. These traps really do catch the flies on the sticky inner surface. As soon as a fly lands on the surface, it is caught for good. After just a few days we counted dozens of fruit flies and even a few house flies stuck to the trap. This has greatly reduced the number of flies in the air around the kitchen and elsewhere in our home. I appreciate that there is no odor, even after the flies accumulate on the traps. Some types of fly traps do give off a foul odor but this product doesn't. It's not very pretty after it gathers a large number of flies but that is the only drawback. Of course, you can always keep it in places that are out of sight so that is not a big issue. I doubt one trap will last three months but, as inexpensive as these are, I think two packages (six traps) would last the summer for us and are well worth the cost. I will definitely purchase this product again.
