Never realized that I needed a huller for strawberries. I used it and was surprised at the perfect way this gadget removes the hull. However, it will sometimes not hull completely, so I pick the hull out to discard.

This was a pleasant find as I didn't know one of these existed. I had been so used to taking a 3-inch paring knife to my strawberries I never considered a tool for this.
My overall assessment is that it's fairly convenient if you're not fussy about the white part that surrounds strawberry leaves and only care about getting those leaves out. However, I actually am fussy about the white part, so I find it doesn't have quite enough width for the way I like to have strawberries. I end up going back with the paring knife to make sure I'm only getting the red of the berry, so I don't save a lot of time with this huller but, I don't really really fault the product for that--just my preference. Overall, it does what it claims it will do and I think the unit is fairly well made.

This is advertised and called a strawberry huller, but it came in handy when I was cutting up a pineapple the other night. It is perfect for removing the spiney pineapple eyes!

I thought it was stupid to buy a kitchen gadget just for strawberries (especially because my kitchen is tiny) but i bought because one day i was SICK of cutting strawberries to get the white part about, it took forever. i bought this and i actually find it quite useful. i do think that it could be better (i have to separately pull off the green leaves) but overall i still really like it.
