| Tiny but wonderful sound. by Jeff (Sonova Beach, FL) 5 Stars November 13, 2009 Ok, ok...so these chimes are small. Let's face it $13 for a set of chimes that sound like these is a bargain. I bought these chimes to compliment my Woodstock Craftsman chimes. The higher range chimes really fill in the backyard.
Woodstock makes chimes that are musically tuned. A musical note thingy is included which shows the note(s).
Hey...if you really want to hear some awesome chimes check out Woodstock's Big Ben chimes. Wow..they'll blow your minds and tweak off your neighbors as well.
| | Forget it by Movie Editor (Indiana, USA) 1 Stars November 03, 2009 Do not buy it. I got the ball and not the disk as shown in the picture. It barely chimes in a strong wind. I eventally may try to reengineer it. I was late getting it out of the box. I should have sent it back for non performance and a refund. I'd hesatate to buy anything else from this company because the one product I bought was so bad in performance.
| | Nice background noise by Elizabeth Bedsole (Georgia) 5 Stars September 12, 2009 We have this on our front deck and love it. We get alot of wind from the mountains and it makes the perfect background noise.
| | Very small striker by Rubab Khan 2 Stars September 04, 2009 The wind chime looks okay, but the striker is not the same as it is shown in the picture. Rather than being a "disk" almost touching the sticks, it's just small ball that is half an inch away from the sticks. The only time it rings is when I push it by hand.
It's a chime alright, but it's no wind chime. Well, if you have a storm then may be then, else ...
| | Woodstock Mars Wind Chime by toneylee (Virginia) 5 Stars August 11, 2009 Yes, it is small, almost delicate-looking, but it is very pretty, both visually and auditorily. I don't know what other reviewers mean about the chimes needing a strong breeze to work. I hung mine at the back stoop, which is protected under a metal awning. They still need only a soft breeze to quietly, peacefully chime. In a stronger breeze, all the chimes are rung for several seconds and then fade away. I like the difference in tone and loudness with different "breeze strength". This is my first set of chimes from Woodstock, and I'm impressed by the quality difference that tuning seems to make. None of the tinkly, sometimes irritating quality of ordinary cheap wind chimes. I can't say I know the difference between Mars, Pluto, and Earth ones, but my Mars chime really does sound like music. I'm happy with my purchase and would consider buying a larger, more expensive Woodstock chime in the future for another spot. Definitely worth the money.
