| Big and Solid by Paul W. Robberson (Petersburg, WV) 4 Stars November 05, 2009 The 22.5 inch Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker has tremendous volume and is very solidly built. My first time out I smoked two racks of ribs on the top rack and an 8 lb pork shoulder on the lower. It was a cold, windy rainy day and I had some trouble keeping the temperature above 200. That was mostly my fault because I should have placed it in a more protected spot. The result was delicious, but over-smoked. I am eager to try again. I have two full briskets in the freezer. I'm going to do one on each rack to see the difference.

Bogucki 4 Stars October 27, 2009 This is big.This cooker uses 300 pieses of charcoal,or 18 lb.bag.The only meat that was cooker so far was ribs.1 slab of baby backs,and 1 slab of regular ribs.At the same time.They were done in 4 hours time.They were out of this world.
| | WSM 221/2" More and better by Don Sikes 5 Stars October 27, 2009 I have owned a WSM 18" for about two years and liked it so much I ordered the new 22 1/2" when it came out. All I can say about the 22 1/2 is More and Better!
These smokers are idiot and fool proof....IF you follow the simple instructions. I did a Pork Butt (Sholder) last sunday. Started at 10:00 in the morning, added some charcoal at 3:00 took it off at 5:00 (when the internal temp was 200 degrees, wrapped it in foil and put it an insulated cooler to rest. At 6:30 unwrapped it, pulled out the bone, "pulled" the meat apart with two forks and served it. DELICIOUS and perfectly cooked. I do ribs for 3.5 hours with the same results. Brisket cooks one hour per pound of meat,otherwis the same method and results EVERYTIME. For many years I used one of those $2,000.00 plus firebox steel smokers with great results and time consuming futzing with the fire, dampers, etc. The WSM gets the same, even better, results with 10% of the effort.

Over all this is a great cooker. I would highly reccomend this cooker. I cooked a brisket and 2 Boston butts on my cooker. After getting the temperature set the cooker idled along with very little tending. It still had plenty of heat left after a 12 hour cook. I was very pleased with the cooker's performence.
