I have been SEARCHING for a simple nature CD, waves but not annoying, over-powering, loud, crashing waves. I wanted soft waves, lapping on the shoreline. No annoying birds, flutes, etc. This is just what I have been searching for! So soothing that even I (the massage therapist) begin to feel drowsy! This has become a huge favorite of my patients. They love it for it's relaxing, soothing sound. I have come to the end of my search! Yeah!

I love Nature Sounds, especially the Ocean! I also have the Sounds of Nature Series by Chuck Plaisance. His version of OCEAN WAVES (Sounds of Nature Series) is supberb. 3-D sound and excellent quality. I like the entire Sounds of Nature Series. On the Sampler you can hear excerpts from all 20 albums. I just received this CD as well as "Morning Songbirds." I already owned "Thunderstorm," which is what sparked me to seek and find what other CDs Echos of Nature had available. What I was seeking is relaxing nature sound CDs that are REALISTIC, don't contain music, and are void of sudden irritating sounds that don't seem to fit in with the rest of the CD - such as a sudden loud bird "squawk!" (if you know what I mean.) I give both "Thunderstorm" and "Ocean Waves" 5 stars - I love them! They work for me, and are exactly what I wanted. If there Are repeating tracks in them, as some reviewers say, they are not anything I would notice (and I think I'm pretty discerning). "Morning Songbirds," on the other hand, is not at all what I hoped for. In fact, I listened to less than half and had to shut it off because I found one repetitive bird too annoying, like a broken record. Didn't sound natural, or relaxing, to me. I'm actually planning to send it back. If you have "Morning Songbirds" and dislike it, don't let it discourage you from trying "Thunderstorm" and "Ocean Waves!" I can see myself wearing these out with daily use. I'll play them to meditate, to fall asleep, to have in the background while writing or doing housework, and just for the "take me away" aspect they give me. I'm grateful to have them! Kathleen M. This CD sounds quite bad IMO. Very unrealistic - and closer to synthesized sound than the real thing. If this was recorded on real beaches, the recording engineer messed up badly. Having said that, I guess its fine a (distant) background sound, but if you really want the relaxation benefits, spring for something better.
