Sinkhole is one of my favs, and this album introduced me to their music. I had heard before Casemaker, a good song, but this album is kind of improved. It's like an introduction to their last record. If you like Lo-fi music but you some kind miss those megatons provided by white trash you should try this one. Some of my favorite songs are recorded in this album, but I suggest to record it on a tape, and get Ringing Ear Records address to order Core Sample right away (U$ 4), Sinkhole's kiss goodbye and more recommended album. It's terrific, not just for the music, a cross between pop punk (hi MTV!) and lo-fi (someone once called them powerpop, I guess a few songs of theirs are okay to be described as such), but for the lyrics and also because you're buying a piece of pop history that is going to be forgotten and no one even mind. So it's like you're the only who cares about it. You should also get the songs 'casemaker' 'weed' 'red dog' recorded into your tape. They broke up and Ringing Ear shut down, but you still have that chance, so don't miss it, visit their webpage at world.std.com/~eshepard/sinkhole/ and find more about their releases and other bands, like Bugjuice and Doc Hopper.
