| the album smashing pumpkins would have love to have made by David Wilkes (Sheffield UK) 5 Stars August 31, 2009 This cd is just brilliant. Its that rare thing, an album where every track is brilliant. Not only that the songs are varied, exciting, excecuted perfectly and the lyrics are fantastic, poetic almost. At last look this cd was available for a few pence/cents. YOU CANNOT LOSE!! buy it now before they are all gone!! Impress your friends by re-discovering a band which should have been huge.
| | He ain't kiddin'. by Evan F. Draper 4 Stars January 29, 2006 I picked up this album used for $2, almost solely for the fact that it had a song about Francis Scott Key, but it surprised me. The word I always use when describing it is "nobility." The songs are proud, righteous, determined. Not bombastic, like Gene Simmons or some rock wiener, but noble. It's most evident in "Perfect Spirals," a song, in all sincerity, about football heroics: "The sideline bench is tense, we fall into a trance, the field has turned to mud, the crowd is out for blood, he takes the field so full of love, the king is here, the king is here." Blessed sincerity! I never heard the "Rock Science" disc--it seemed universally reviled, and people kept throwing around words like "New Wave," and I got scared. But grab this if you have the chance, and it'll be $3 well spent.
| | Lost classic waiting to be rediscovered by Henry W. Kastler (Chicago, IL USA) 5 Stars February 08, 2003 Every song on this album is brilliant. The American rock band you really need to hear. Pick up it up now.
