| THE MOST EXTREME ALBUM OF THE 80's!!!!!!!! by INFESTER (Not Germany circa 1930's!) 5 Stars January 20, 2006 YES WHAT A BOLD STATEMENT!!!!! BUT O SO TRUE!!!!
THIS IS FASTER THAN FAST!!!!!
You will also notcie the BASS playing(steve!!)..mother of FUKK!!!! more bottom end than the last thunderstorm you had!!
This is alot better than dark angel and a little more extreme than slayer..with much better production as well...AND A BASS PLAYER WHO CAN BE HEARD ALL OVER!!!!!
IT REALLY DOESENT GET ANY FASTER!!! IT's REALLY JUST SCAREY!!!!!!! THINKING ABOUT THE SPEED OF IT MAY CAUSE SOME BRAIN DAMAGE EVEN!!!!! ONE OF THE BEST EVER IN SPEED MUSIC HISTORY!!!!!

''....ATTACK!!!!!!''
| | A repackaging of the first Sadus LP "Illusions"; Classic! by Zander Haberstaft (Miami, Florida) 4 Stars July 13, 2005 Sadus was always in the wing of the more interesting Bay Area Thrash bands. Some of the bands that frequented the second and third tier of Bay Area Thrash Metal weren't very interesting at all (i.e. Heathen, maybe Forbidden too).
Formed in 1984 in Antioch, California, Sadus consisted of several lineups before they kept with the same line up for three albums. This was the Darren Travis, Rob Moore, Steve Digiorgio, and Jon Allen mold. Through some very popular demo tapes that were circulated throughout California, that is "Death to Poseurs" or '86 and "Certain Death" of '87, Sadus gained a following that led them to a (barely) released album on some label called "Illusions" in 1988. After recording "Swallowed in Black" in 1990, RC decided to help Sadus by rereleasing "Illusions as "Chemical Exposure" on Tape, Vinyl, and CD in 1991. Otherwise, this album is no different than "Illusions".
What does Sadus sound like? Tough to say because they had a pretty original sound. (Like a cross between early-Exodus, D.R.I., Possessed, early-Dark Angel and something else.) Sadus was not the fastest but pretty damn fast on this album, whirling guitar solos that weren't entirely based on chords, and fat bass lines. Sadus was basically a very early precursor of Death Metal. They very carefully walked the thin line between Thrash and Death Metal.
This album is definitely recommended for the total Thrash maniac fan. This album is certainly a lot better than other bands that came out with albums at the same time who made it big (i.e. Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax). All of the other Sadus albums are good too and worth checking out, especially "Swallowed in Black".
TWISTED FACE!!!!
| | Speed Metal At Its Best by Bryan Poff (USA) 5 Stars September 19, 2003 I must admit when I first bought this record It was kinda like yea this is ok and I put it in the cd shelf. But the second time I listened to this cd for some reason it clicked in I was in wow. This is as fast as metal is gonna get. Im a huge fan of Megadeth and slayer but not even their earlier attempts can match the speed of this one. Deff the fastest band ive ever heard. You better hope you got a lyric book in the cd case or good luck trying to understand the verses but for any speed metal fan that just makes it better. Steve DiGiorgio's bass playing can be heard throughout the record and isnt drowned out by guitar. The solos are crazy kinda a Mustaine/Hanneman type sound. I suggest this record to any thrash/speed metal fan because thats exactly what it is. If you dont like it the first go around listen to it again. I cant tell you how many times i listened to a cd once and go man this sucks i.e. St. Anger only to pick it up a month latter to find i really enjoy.Go buy the damn cd.
