CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.5 based on 12 reviews)
| If you are looking at this page, buy this disc! by Sadie Hawkins (Providence, RI) 5 Stars January 31, 2005 Adult. and everything on the Ersatz Audio label is amazing. If you like electronic music at all, or even if you don't but you want to expand your punk rock sensibilities a little, you need this. Need more convincing? The ersatzaudio site has lengthy song samples from this album and other band info, including songs from 1/2 of Adult's previous band Le Car, another must have.
| | Not electroclash, electrofantastic by New World??? (San Diego, Ca) 5 Stars October 15, 2004 This cd is great if you are into electronic craziness. It is punk, indie and electronic all rolled into one. Calling it electroclash is a misnomer because it doesnt deserve to be lumped in with that particular brand of mediocre music. This is dance music. If you are an independent music fan and that likes electronic tunes but is tired of all of that rave party garbage then check it out.
| | Cool Debut by Important Electroclash Group by SandmanVI (Glen Allen, VA United States) 4 Stars February 19, 2004 Adult. does it a little harsher and more old school than the likes of Ladytron, but that doesn't mean the songs aren't accessible. On the contrary, the songs have fun beats and solid synth hooks. There are no sweeping textures or multilayered pieces; Adult. writes songs that are direct and minimal feeling like music from some formulaic stage of electronic music that never actually existed. The vocals, as one would expect, are dispassionate and robotic though more distorted than the norm in this scene. "Hand to Phone" is perfect for the dancefloor. "Minors at Nite" is a bleepy, analog stomp. Other standouts include "Pressure Suit" and "Dispassionate Furniture" (nice title). The album is highly recommended for fans of electroclash and industrial but probably not for techno/Ibiza pinheads. I think there would be an odd appeal for fans of punk too. If Devo were still making music and had a girl lead singer, they'd likely sound like this.
| | Adult by True (MN, United States) 5 Stars October 22, 2003 This album shows the most potential for the modern "Electro" scene, even though this album is years old (2001), it is still one of the best examples of this very spotty genre. Adult's "Anxiety Always" isn't near as good as this album. I would start here or get Tiga's "Mixed Emotions" cd. Check tracks > Pressure Suit and Lost Love.
| | it IS obtainable! 5 Stars February 27, 2003 this album is so absolutely incredible! and you can get it without paying a fortune! look at the label's website...and it's oh so affordable too!

| D.U.M.E. by ADULT.
This is Adult.'s Thrill Jockey debut, though it does not signal an end to their own Ersatz Audio label. Adult. decided to devote all their time to the band as opposed to the label, which they have run for over seven years. "D.U.M.E." contains six songs, all exclusive to this EP. While the band have been unfairly championed as part of the electro-clash movement, their music knows no class distinction. Fans of electronic, dance, indie, pop, and punk will enjoy these sounds.
