| SONGWRITING IS STILL ALIVE! 5 Stars December 30, 2001 = SONGWRITING IS STILL ALIVEReviewer: adityarao1 from Hollywood, CA - USAThis album is a winner. Creighton's songs are built around a sharp lyrical wit and great traditional pop sensibility. His influences are well-documented in this debut effort: The Beatles, Michael Penn, Beach Boys, Paul Simon... and he does right by all of them. This album is a breath of fresh air in the current climate of over-perfected rock albums. Creighton's production values are as stylish as his approach to each instrument (that's right folks, he performed the whole thing himself). The result is a warm, organic sound which is not found in many modern recordings. Artists like this remind us that real songwriting is still alive. Each song is delicate balance of mellow moodiness and lush pop melody. Highlights include the ultra-pop song "The Letter S" and a McCartney-inspired acoustic guitar ballad called "Here's What I Need".
