CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 5.0 based on 1 review)
| driving it home 5 Stars November 13, 2001 While paddling slowly through a dank dark musty swamp, my ears twitched at the pending doom that was about to engulf them as I listen to "on the lam" the new release from Cavity. Little did I know that the infectious thunder of the full force blues and driving mayhem that started with "cult exciter" and ended with "9" would overcome my senses like relentless tidal waves, which just keep knocking you down; over and over and over, never for a second letting up. Each listen to "on the lam" seems to get better and better. The thunderous pulse of "sweat and swagger" and the roar of "boxing the hog" makes me want to rush to my eighteen wheeler and head full steam across the guard-rail into the mud. This record is not to be missed. So go down; grab a big fat stubby cypress stump and use it to smash the counterof the nearest music establishment that doesn't have this CD. You'll find that the musky stink will linger on you, just as long as the blues riffs of "on the lam" throb in your skull.

| Shrinebuilder by Shrinebuilder
2009 release. It's not so much a band name as a statement of intent. Not a one-off supergroup, but rather the first chapter in what promises to be an epic narrative. More to the point, though--Shrinebuilder is the meeting of musical monoliths, the Justice League of underground heaviness: Scott "Wino" Weinrich of Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan, and The Hidden Hand on guitar; Al Cisneros of Om and Sleep on bass; Dale Crover of Melvins and Altamont on drums; Scott Kelly of Neurosis on...

| Laid Insignificant by Cavity
While the climate of any Cavity album could be considered hostile, "Laid Insignificant" has proven to be the most unhinged and ferocious occupant in the stable in the ten years subsequent to its original release. While retaining the foundational elements of Sabbathian swagger upon which their reputation was built, this album proved Cavity had more to offer in terms of compositional prowess. With added emphasis on faster tempos, layered chordal discordance, and an overall air of frantic...

| The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw by Pelican
With their newest epic, Pelican bring on new levels of complexities to their already distinctive auditory stamp. Acoustic guitars take their place beside the group's traditional (read: highly amplified) power-droning and awe-inspiring instrumental anthems. Whether this signals the end of the underground musical landscape as we know it, or the beginning of a new one is anyone's guess. Luckily, it rules either way. They've toured with Low, Tortoise, Isis, Mono, Cave In, Daughters, The Bronx,...
