EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Amazon.com Saliva frontman Josey Scott unintentionally elevated his band above countless nü metal clones by teaming up with Nickelback's Chad Kroeger to write and record the song "Hero" for the Spider-Man soundtrack. The tang of mainstream success was exactly what the Memphis, Tennessee, group needed to break away from the pack on Back into Your System. This follow-up to its major-label debut, Every Six Seconds, ups the heavy atmospherics and dyspepsia. "Always" takes on the touchy subject of domestic violence with unblinking force as Scott rips into the verses "I've seen the blood all over your hands / Does it make you feel more like a man?," while "Raise Up" mixes testosterone-heavy rapping with raging guitars in the most menacing way possible, and Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx contributes the authentically angsty ballad "Rest in Pieces." It's the sound of a band discovering its potential. --Aidin Vaziri |

| | more polished than ESS by thewanderer (Athens, Ga) 5 Stars June 12, 2005 This is a coll cd. Saliva turned it up a notch from "Every Six Seconds". It is way more polished. It is a great cd. I still have it in my truck after listening to it time and time again.
When it comes to the new wave of hard rock Saliva is definately one of the best.
"Weight of the World", "Storm", and "Famous Monsters" are real catchy tracks.
A powerful cd from a from a edgey and strong band
| | There best by far... by Clint (NH United States) 5 Stars June 09, 2005 This is a good rocking cd. I remember when i bought it in Korea and just loved it. It was the perect cd for that time. Everytime I hear it now, I think of all the fun I had in Korea.
| | My first taste of Saliva - refreshing nu-rock by Petar Vodogaz (Sydney, NSW Australia) 4 Stars May 23, 2005 This is another band that I was introduced to through a friend at work and had some doubts too. All I can say is WOW. They remind me of a much younger Nickelback. Not age wise but music career wise, with some interesting and thought provoking lyrics in 'Always', 'Raise Up' and 'Back In Your System'. Great songs with even greater messages in them. The important issue of domestic voilence in our society is again touched upon in a resolute way in 'Always', which for me makes this album a winner for me.
Good music is great but even better is music with messages that can be heard clearly within the lyrics. Scott as the lead vocalist carries the band and the beat backup is supurb. The only reason I didn't give this CD 5/5 is for the last 3 songs that sounded flat...the hits of the CD should have been spread out a little more.
But overall great CD and can't wait to get more of Saliva's work.
| | SALIVA- back into your system is good...A MUST BUY!!!!!!!!!! 5 Stars May 07, 2005 Saliva- Back into your system- 5 STARS ALL THE WAY, BABY!!! YEAH!
I just got this album not long ago and I was amazed how good the songs were. Josey Scott has an awesome voice that brings in a different kind of rock vocal, which definalty isn't a bad thing. I got into it while listening to "Survival of the sickest" on a rescent WWE pay-per-view. After that I was at their mercy. I believe back in to your system is their best album but do like some tracks from Every six seconds & SOTS. my favorite songs are "Weight of the world" "Always" "Pride" and "Superstar II."
I am going to get the rest of the albums as soon as possible.
I hope this review has made you want to buy this album, cause its a total collectable, no doubt.

| Every Six Seconds by Saliva
Saliva's heavy rock--with a dash of rap--is at once current and timeless, unlike many of the bands spawned by Korn and Limp Bizkit. This Memphis-bred bunch's powerful, diverse debut features a dozen lyrically and musically focused tracks from a band clearly possessed of strong chops and smart heads. Rangy singer Josey Scott's passionate delivery works well when matched with the chunky riffing of "Musta Been Wrong," the soaring, layered song's intensity balanced by shredding guitar. Every Six...

As a result, Saliva's fifth album Blood Stained Love Story resounds with a previously untapped level of passion, energy, sincerity and diversity, not to...
