EDITORIAL REVIEWS

Album Description
Movement is the latest release from Monstrum Sepsis and the full length follow-up to 2003's Deep Sea Creatures. With this release, Monstrum Sepsis has ventured into uncharted territory by delivering a more sonically upbeat album with a heavier emphasis placed on melody. Movement does have MS's signature blend of noise and driving bass lines but this release will appeal more to fans of Warp Records and their standouts, Autechre, B12 and Boards of Canada. Look for Monstrum Sepsis to hit the road in April to support the release of Movement.

Emotional, Powerful, & Focused: Takes Us Great Places by M. Mierzwa (Davis, CA USA) 5 Stars
April 11, 2006
About the Band: Monstrum Sepsis is a blend of ambient industrial (basically electronic soundtracks you might here in a SciFi film) and rhythmic / power noise and is best known for mixing danceable drum beats with soft electronic melodies. Wentz, the principal architect behind Monstrum Sepsis, also played keys with the industrial band Stromkern. About the Album: I bought this album, their third major release, from amazon based on the fact that I loved their other two releases (both of which I also highly recommend), and instantly fell in love with Movement. This long awaited album takes Monstrum Sepsis in the direction another well known San Francisco band - Gridlock - was heading. Though just shy of an hour long, the focused album features solid paced ambient electronics from start to finish ... in a word: awesome! Movement's lead track Trojan Horse, which actually features distorted vocals that are so subtle that I didn't notice them until I was listening to the album in my car, fits right in with the pace and style from Monstrum Sepsis's previous EP, Doors and Windows. At times the album slows down a bit, with tracks like the Total Cost, and at other times steps up the energy with racing rhythmic noise tracks such as Wasted and Shaven and Green River. Recommended Tracks: - Trojan Horse - Moving Backwards to Proceed - Beat per Trip - Total Cost Dance friendly, and yet moody, Movement will take you on an emotional journey. I honestly think this album is what music is about and count it amongst some of my favorites. I'm certainly looking forward to Rob and Paul's next album, as the growth evident in Movement points to great future Monstrum Sepsis releases.
