this NOT Grindcore. by SATANIKVNT (Oslo,Norway,) 1 Stars

this is totally not grindcore in any shape, way or form. Go blast some Terrorizer,Repulsion,Napalm Death and (early) Carcass if you want to know what real grindcore is. If you dont want to know what real grindcore is I will come over to your house and kill you and then proceed to giving your mother a Cleveland Steamer while chocking my chicken to some good scat porn.

Ownage! brutal cd! buy this if you like something outside the box. not a hardcore or metalcore cd. Only downside is that I wish it was longer. I play it when I need to get my blood pumping.

Total Crap by C. Tyler (Louisville) 1 Stars

I recently picked up this album (EP, rather) and was very excited to take a listen when I heard that they had been compared to Job For A Cowboy and The Black Dahlia Murder. However when listening to it, to say I was disappointed would be a compliment. The CD is only 18.51 minutes long with only two songs over a minute long, and only two of the remaining songs are over a minute and a half. To spend anything over 5 dollars on something this short is preposterous. The musical style, on the other hand, makes one thankful that the CD is the length that it is. It is easy to tell that the drummer was once a guitar player, the gutiar player "just decided to pick up the guitar on a whim" and their vocalist was chosen due to his facial hair. The "band" has no talent and only has any ability to create funny song titles. It insults other bands to compare See Your Next Tuesday to them. If anyone were to have an inclination to purchase this album when hearing them compared to the aforementioned bands, I hope that they would not make the same mistake that I have made. This overly cacophonous waste of plastic and time shows that nearly any group of morons that can make a myspace page can record an album and sometimes fool a label into a contract. Don't be fooled into buying this crap.

lots of folks just don't get it by graphiteplacenta (San Diego. CA) 5 Stars

This album is an aggressive excursion into erratic songwriting that is nevertheless cohesive and fresh. Despite it being an experimental endeavor, it is produced by Andreas Magnusson (Job for a Cowboy) and is astoundingly polished. The reason why a lot of people may be put off by it is that the songs continuously jump tempos, time signatures, and key signatures. Unless you are used to listening to jazz or avant-garde music, Parasite may be hard to swallow. As for those who complain about the short length of the album: get used to it, it's a grindcore album. Remember, It's quality not quantity of music. Oh, and yes there are a lot of breakdowns for the scene kids. However, the breakdowns are not a session of sitting on one powerchord for 30 seconds like some of the typical metalcore bands do...typically they are dissonant low diminished or augmented chords. This band has so much talent in every member that it seriously makes me want to cry that more people don't appreciate this album. This is one of those albums that requires a second listen to fully observe. Listen without bias and decide for yourself.

Grind, Grinding, Ground. by Peter K. (PA) 4 Stars

with awesome songs like How to survive a Vicious Cock Fight, 8 Dead 9 if You Count the Fetus, Man-dude vs. Dude-brah and of course Good Christians Don't Get Jiggy With it Till' They're Married, its clear this band can write some killer stuff. The only problems with these great songs is that they're way too short. Seemingly short for the sake of being short. Just when you get really into a song its over which takes away from the greatness of the cd, if the songs could just have been a bit longer even by just a minute I think this band would be a force to be reckoned with. songs like Paraphilia and Pogonotrophy however (both parts and should only be one part anyway) drag this album down. They really don't fit with the rest of the album and feel out of place. not to mention Pogonotrophy is a boring way to end the album. They're the two longest songs on the album but are also the slowest and least interesting in my opinion. That being said this is overall an awesome release, completely brutal grind. The albums length however might be a factor to some. At just under 19 minutes is it really worth 15 bucks? If I'm paying roughly a dollar a minute for something there had better be a smoking chick on the phone telling me how great I am. However if you care more about quality than quantity this is the cd for you.
