| MP3 buyers use caution by M. Sincic (Naperville, IL United States) 3 Stars October 04, 2009 Consider this a caution for those who want to download this album as an MP3. As of September 2009, Amazon still had not corrected the problem identified by the earlier buyer. That is, downloading this album results in receiving the first 19 tracks of the score album, not the 19 track soundtrack.
As a buyer of scores and soundtracks, I would take either one. I communicated the problem to Amazon. They promised a refund and to look into the issue. Hopefully they will fix it.
| | SOME ROUGH SPOTS, BUT A VERY GOOD SOUNDTRACK 8.5 OUT OF 10 by ACEMAN1 (Ripon, California) 4 Stars April 15, 2009 I absolutely adore the zombie film this soundtrack is for, and like the film this soundtrack is great and worthy of a purchase because it features very good songs along with some of the music from Charlie Clouser's score for the film.
TRACK 1: Composer: Charlie Clouser: Main Title: Rating- 8 out of 10: This is no song, it is simply the main theme played at the beginning of the film. It's too short, but it's still a good score.
TRACK 2: Artist: Shadows Fall: Stupid Crazy: Rating- 8 OUT OF 10: This only the second song I've heard from this band. It's not the best of the two songs I've heard from them, but it's still a rather good song even though in some parts I really didn't care for the lyrics.
TRACK 3: Artist: Flyleaf Vs. The Legion of Doom: I'm So Sick (T-Virus Remix): Rating- 9 out of 10: It's not as good as the original version of I'm So Sick, but this remix version is still good and does a good job of capturing the themes of the film.
TRACK 4: Artist: Emigrate: My World: Rating- 9 out of 10: This song is actually quite good and it seemed to fit into the film's post-apocalyptic theme while also having very interesting lyrics and great beat.
TRACK 5: Artist: Bayside: Duality (Project Alice String Remix): Rating- 8.5: It's a good song, but my main problem is that it just doesn't seem to fit into feeling like it belongs in such a soundtrack for an R-rated film. Sure it may go into some themes like the film, but it just feels out of place in here. Still a great song to listen to though.
TRACK 6: Composer: Charlie Clouser: Losing: Rating- 8.5 out of 10: Again, Charlie Clouser's score is good, but dammit, this is too short. It would have gotten a higher rating had it been longer.
TRACK 7: Artist: Aiden Vs. The Legion of Doom: One Love (Extinction Remix): Rating- 8.75: This is a great song. The song though does go into themes like drug use and it's rather bizarre, but I liked it because it had a great beat and the lyrics were well-written.
TRACK 8: Artist: Fightstar: Deathcar: Rating- 9.25 out of 10: Whoever knew a song about a deathcar could be so awesome? This is one of the best songs of the album. It goes from screaming death metal to calm and peaceful with it's great use electric guitar and lyrics. I loved this song.
TRACK 9: Artist: Throwdown: I, Suicide: Rating- 8.25: This song was well-written and has a great sense of beat to it, but it ran into some rough spots with questionable beats and lyrics that weren't so likeable. It was still a good song though.
TRACK 10: Artist: Collide: White Rabbit (SPC ECO Mix): Rating- 9.5 out of 10: At first I really didn't care much about this song, but after a few more tries I loved the song. It starts off slow and some might be offended by some of its sexual overtones, but if you give it a shot it does not disappoint and then gets going. A fantastic song.
TRACK 11: Artist: Chimaira: Paralyzed: Rating- 7 out of 10: This is one of the lower points of the album. It's not a bad song, but it just didn't strive to be more and never really reaches its potential because of the fact the lyrics are somewhat sketchy along with the beat.
TRACK 12: Composer: Charlie Clouser: Laser Tunnel: Rating- 9 out of 10: This score seems to be trying to compete with the Marilyn Manson score of the great first film, yet mix in some music reminiscent of Jeff Danna's score from the great second film. However, like the other musical bits from Charlie Clouser, THIS IS TOO DAMN SHORT!
TRACK 13: Artist: The Bled: Asleep on the Frontline (Appliantz Remix): Rating- 9.25 out of 10: This song conveys a deeper message than most songs. It goes into war and personal struggles. It's a great song, but it's flawed over the fact the song is a bit slow. A great song to listen to however.
TRACK 14: Artist: City Sleeps: Catch Me: Rating- 9.5 out of 10: The best song on the album. Although City Sleeps released only one album, for some reason this song never made it there, but ended up here. This song is absolutely fantastic and nearly perfect. Why is it not perfect? I wish it was longer.
TRACK 15: Artist: Searchlight: Contagious: Rating- 9.25 out of 10: This is great and also conveys a deep message about the struggles with the world. It has a great choice of lyrics and wonderful beat to it. It's great, but could have been better.
TRACK 16: Artist: Emanuel: Scenotaph (DJA Infected Remix): Rating- 9.25 out of 10: This song will surely offend someone who is not used to cursing in songs. What is it, you might ask? "Spread your legs, then f*** the world!" It's a great song and I enjoyed the fact that this time they didn't find it necessary to censor the lyrics unlike the songs for the soundtrack of the original film.
TRACK 17: Artist: It Dies Today: Sixth of June: Rating- 9 out of 10: I liked this song because of the lyrics and beat. It was flawed, but still highly enjoyable for what it is.
TRACK 18: Artist: Poison in the Well: Wrecking Itself Taking You With Me: Rating- 7 out of 10: This song is still good, but there were parts where I didn't like the beat or the lyrics. It's decent to listen to, but it's nothing mind-blowing.
TRACK 19: Composer: Charlie Clouser: Convoy: Rating- 9 out of 10: This is a good score, but again, it's way too short. Charlie Clouser is a good composer overall, so why are his scores so short in this soundtrack?

| | These tracks are not titled correctly: Amazon needs to address this by Kerri West (Austin, TX) 1 Stars January 25, 2009 None of these tracks are previewing correctly, or they are labeled wrong: you choose. When you click the preview button to hear a sample of the track, you are going to hear samples of the score - NOT the track that it says you are listening to. This is absolutely unacceptable, and Amazon needs to fix it so that people actually know what they are buying.
| | nice and heavy by Big T (7 minutes in the future) 5 Stars November 25, 2008 There's some iffy tracks here, but the vast majority are badazz heavy rockin' tracks! Good stuff! I just deleted the few I didn't like and have a sweet hard-rock mixtape.
