Great Vocals From Norwegian Beauty Sissel by Terence Allen (Atlanta, GA USA)  5 Stars

"Northern Lights," by Norwegian soprano Sissel, soars on the strength of her magnificent vocals. This record is another indication of her great talent, as she effortlessly glides from one song to another without showing strain or lethargy.
Songs like "Jesu, Joy on Man's Desiring," "Hallowed Mountains," "Sarah's Song," "Your Sky," "Ready To Go Home," and others demonstrate that Sissel has what only the best singers possess - the ability to sing treasured classical pieces, native songs, and modern compositions and handle each of them with beauty and grace.
"Northern Lights" is a fantastic record, and does the artist responsible proud.

As always, Sissel excels with her wonderful voice. Never a song that you don't like hearing over and over again. Especially beautiful is her duet with José Carreras in "Quando Sento Che Mi Ami" (can be watched on YouTube).

Sissel's Northern Lights CD is just wonderful. It is full of her Honey voiced renditions of known and unknow songs, all of which she performs to perfection.

Amazon had a video clip of Sissel singing a track from this CD. Had never heard of her until then, what a find! She is one of the few vocalist that truly is versatile and able to sing a wide variety of styles. All the music contained in this CD is well suited to Sissel's voice and showcases the depth of her maturity. Added this CD plus three more to my library.
