EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Formed by former Helloween guitarist Kai Hansen in 1990, Gamma Ray has become world renown for delivering high-powered, energetic heavy metal. For the past two decades, they have earned a rabid European following and a healthy fanbase across North America, even in metal's lean years in the 90s. Already a known and respected name in the core community, Gamma Ray is poised to make further inroads in America in 2008, when they'll embark on a full-scale US tour with Hansen's ex-mates Helloween. Their time is now! |

| Gamma Ray onslaught continues!! by Metalizer (CT.,USA) 5 Stars January 14, 2009 I've been a Gamma Ray fan for many years and while some of their CDs haven't exactly blown me away they do have a great feel for how to put together quality power metal music. That said, this CD will not dissapoint any Power Metal or Gamma Ray fan. They mix the pace of the songs nicely with their trademark speedy guitar songs and some heavy mid-paced crunchers. The song "Empress" is clearly a tribute to Accepts "Princess Of The Dawn" and though it has moments that sound similar it is not a rip-off. In my opinion this CD is superior to Majestic and is more like a combination of that and New World Order. This CD will rock you seriously!!! Get it soon.
| | Kai delivers yet again!! by Big D-man (New Jersey) 5 Stars July 29, 2008 Ever since Kai took over the vocals for Gamma Ray in 1995, all their albums have been outstanding. It blows my mind how consistent they are in sticking to their guns over the years and yet showing no sign of slowing down or wearing out. And it's truly mind boggling how underrated this band is! Granted, their music in not very "innovative" (except maybe for Walls of Jericho, which was revolutionary for its time) and the ever present influence of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden is noticeable in many of their songs, but who cares? They deliver great and true Heavy Metal over and over again: powerful, melodic, fresh, technically impeccable, and actually mood enhancing (it never fails to boost up my spirits, even during tough times). And the fact that Kai is such a nice and down-to-earth guy (I was lucky to meet him in person) adds more value to what he does.
Anyway, as for the new album - it's all what you would expect from Gamma Ray at their best! As usual, it takes a couple of times of listening to the album to fully appreciate it. And as usual, there are a couple of songs that are not quite masterpieces, but it's not really noticeable among the overall brilliance. Don't hesitate to buy it, you won't be disappointed - the level is all the way up there with the rest of their great albums!
| | Good album but not the best. by John Grivas (Astoria, NY United States) 3 Stars June 17, 2008 I was really excited about this album and even though non of the songs were bad at all, none of them stuck out as "WOW!!!" My favorite still is Somewhere Out In Space. Note: the original photo of the album cover didn't have the parental advisory logo or that huge circle. I complained and filled out an RMA and then they put it up there. That, to me, is the biggest dissappointment. I buy the actual cd, and don't download it, because of the artwork/booklet (and not printed by a color lazerjet.) Even before I listened to it, I contacted amazon to replace it. All the stores that carry it have those logos on it so I never did actualy ship the cd out and I contacted Gammaray's official site and they said they have it without those annoying labels.
| | Long live power metal by Alejandro Dagnino (Lima) 5 Stars April 26, 2008 Kay Hansen and co. are back to bring a very fine album a nice work of guitar all along the album. A nice piece of power metal.
| | Great album by Aaron Bruehl (Millstadt, IL USA) 5 Stars March 08, 2008 Anyone looking to expand there music collection needs to buy this album. If you like Helloween and bands like Hammerfall get this album. This is the first of Gamma Ray's that I have purchased and I'm definitely getting more. Killer guitar work and screaming vocals for the metal heads out there.
