A Midwinter Day Dream by Etienne Padin (Wicker Park, Chicago, IL 60622) 5 Stars
February 14, 2006
This is a great CD. I just heard it for the first time on Saturday afternoon as I laid down staring at the reflection of the nearby buildings shadow grow more ominent to the sounds of each track. It will take you on a wonderful trip. However, it did make my blood pressure slightly go down the first time I heard it.

A non ageing masterpiece by Jason Michaels (New York City) 5 Stars
August 10, 2002
Patashnik throws you into a world of dreamy landscapes and astral travels. A compilation of beutiful sounds and great beats for your more ambient heads out there. There is a darker feeling to this album, but that only sets the mood for a deeper voyage into the world of the subconciouse. A never ageing masterpiece by the Mike oldfield of norway :) A MASTERPIECE.

Yet another winner from Geir and Apollo by Jay M (Dublin, Ireland) 5 Stars
October 14, 2001
Experimenting more with ambient tracks, Geir Jennsen utilises a darker sound on this album. But for the moment the beats remain. From the majestic, brooding masterpiece that is 'Novelty Waves' with its booming bassline to other more ambient tracks like 'Shield' and 'Alpha Centauri', 'Patashnik' is a must have album for any ambient techno collector out there.

Sound of the Frozen North by Jan Micallef (St Julians - MALTA) 5 Stars
February 13, 2000
One of the most original ambient works. I love Nordic environment and this album gives me the right feel, while I'm living on a Mediterranean island. A must for all those people who like to relax and chill-out

It's a classic! by Arcane (Oslo, Norway) 5 Stars
January 10, 2000
This is actually a CD considered a classic in Norway. I believe it's actually one of the best ambient albums ever released. Biosphere sampled a lot of the sounds from the Northern Light Observatory in Tromsoe, Norway and used them making these great chill-out songs. The CD has an overall spacey feeling and when you listen to it, it makes you feel like your floating around in space. Mmmm..

Cirque

Reissue of this classic album, originally released in 2000. Biosphere's music is an intimate reflection of the space and climate of Troms", Norway, but made universal. Adjectives like "glacial" and "remote" do no justice to the intense emotion of the music. Here, the shifting world of previous album Substrata is fused with the liquid electronic rhythms of Biosphere's earlier work in techno. The outcome is almost addictive -- layers of detail reveal themselves as you listen and appreciate the...

The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld

The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld
by The Orb

The first Orb album was entirely new when it appeared: a low-key dance record, with echoes and swells more than up-front tunes, stoner-level dub bass, and all sorts of samples and sounds--seagulls, film clips, astronaut voices, bits of disco--fluttering through the mix like hallucinations. Essentially a techno album for tired dancers, it's held up nicely over time, thanks to its intricate, dreamy sonics. Beyond the classic "Little Fluffy Clouds"--a set of interlocking synth hooks and loping...
