EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Album Description CD reissue of this title from the innovative German Electronica outfit, one of the most influential instrumental outfits of the 20th century. Tangerine Dream has never produced anything calculated to make the masses jump off their chairs and start screaming Top 40 tunes, but they have managed to have an immense impact in the world of Electronic and soundtrack music. Their 107 (and counting) studio, live and soundtrack releases have their own driving hypnotic pieces that might differ from release to release, but they are all uniquely Tangerine Dream. | Edgar Froese solo album - not a bad thing by Music fan (Tracy, California United States) 3 Stars October 14, 2009 This is yet another example of how the 5 star scale Amazon allows is not adequate. Whenever I give 3 stars to something, I feel like that is negative even though it is average by definition. This is by no means a bad release - as a matter of fact, there are no bad songs on it (see below). It is just a little too 'keyboard heavy' considering their recent output. If this were an Edgar Froese release, I would rate it 4 stars easily. It might not seem to make sense to change a review based on what name the CD is released under but with a library as extensive as Tangerine Dream, this should be rated in comparison to the rest of their recent output including the single A Cage in Search of a Bird
Highlights are: Verses of a Sisong, Child Lost in Wilderness and Approaching Greenland at 7PM.
Silence on a Crawler Lane ironically is an alternate version of Moonlight on a Crawler Lane which was previously released on Edgar's Beyond the Storm and Ambient Highway (Moonlight is a better version in my opinion).

| | An Excellent Recording by Ratty Mouse (USA) 4 Stars July 10, 2009 Tangerine Dream's latest release, Chandra, is a welcome addition to their musical heritage. There are just enough new sounds in this recording to make you feel the typical excitement that comes with a new Tangerine Dream album. If you enjoy the ongoing Atomic Seasons series of albums, you will certainly enjoy Chandra. (Verses Of A Sisong has some excellent sequencing!)
