CUSTOMER REVIEWS (Average Customer Rating: 4.0 based on 163 reviews)
| Boring. by Anthony C. Vaughn (San Francisco) 2 Stars November 27, 2009 She sings "Here's to Life" with all the nuances and understanding of a 19 year old.
| | KUDOS FOR FINALLY GOING BACK TO THE M49!!! by L. Bell (Canada ASAP) 5 Stars November 20, 2009 FANTASTIC WORK, the BEST in DECADES. Thanks for going back to the Neumann M49 that G-d Himself MADE for your voice, with all its luscious tube fatness and tickle the ear high-mid treble bite.
Now all you need is a bit more echo, in mono return, straight up the middle (not "stereo" out of phase panned to the sides), preferably with the send to a tape machine first and super hot, and people will finally hear that it wasn't your voice that aged over the years, it was those horrific sizzly "newer" Neumann mics and the LACK of distortion in the vocal track and echo that made it SEEM so.
Brilliant. Thank you SO MUCH FOR COMING HOME!
Kudos to the mic selection on the orchestra as well. Finally the tonal balance (between the music tracks and the vocal) so wrong for decades is RIGHT ON.
| | quartet better than over-orchestrated version by R. Hatchette (LA) 4 Stars November 19, 2009 Put this on the changer in the office with some Buble, Safina, etc. Like the less over-produced CD in the double set. Nice to have a choice.
| | Still Great, Fabulous Albumn by the bear (Mesa, AZ) 5 Stars November 18, 2009 Great albumn, actually two discs. Disc 1 backup is an orchestra, Disk 2 backup is a quartet. If you like old standards and Barbara you will love this albumn. Her voice gets a little scratchy for a momment or two on a couple of songs but overall she continues to be songbird with a rich mellow voice. Not one so so song.
| | Love Love Love It! by John Watkins (The Woodlands, TX) 5 Stars November 16, 2009 This is a great cd! I love to have it on in the background. My current favorite is "If you go away." It is very haunting.
Her voice is better than ever. As she gets older her voice is getting richer, I feel. I like her sound now better than when she first started out.
Bottom line: Get this! It is well worth the money.

| Soundtrack by Linda Eder
Linda returns to her Broadway roots on this release. The 12 tracks span roughly the last 50 years in cinema, from Mancini's "Charade," the title tune of the 1963 movie starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, to "Falling Slowly," the Academy Award winner from Once, the 2007 Irish musical film. The originals may be familiar and beloved, but Eder and her band dramatically reworked the arrangements, rendering the songs in an intimate, fireside style. Other highlights include an aching version of...
