EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Album Description USA Today proclaims that "(Cross Canadian Ragweed) is one of the better-kept secrets around." But not a secret for much longer, as their seventh studio album, Happiness and All The Other Things, amply proves. The 12-track opus opens with a one/two punch/kiss combo that sets the band's wide parameters: The fiercely rocking road tale "51 Pieces" followed by a sweet taste of the Texas Hill Country springtime on "Bluebonnets," whose sparse and lovely arrangement features harmonium by Joe Hardy (the star recording engineer who mixed the album) and dobro by noted musician and producer Lloyd Maines (also the father of Dixie Chick Natalie Maines). And then it only gets better. Marking the band's 15th year together, Happiness and All The Other Things follows on the heels of Mission California, which hit #6 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and #30 on the Top 100 week of release. The band has sold over one million albums and plays over 250 shows annually, rocking an estimated half a million fans this year alone. CD BONUS MATERIAL includes: Commemorative retrospective poster, three live bonus tracks (Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground, Train To Birmingham, Soul Agent), two hidden tracks (Carmelita, Poopeye), live video download (Confident). |

| The New Album by William Olmstead (Banning, Ca.) 5 Stars November 21, 2009 This is the latest album by one of the frontrunners of the new Southern Rock, Country Rock, Texas-Oklahoma sound and it's great. Cody Canada mixes hard rock with gentle ballads and even a couple of good cover tunes. Great album..
| | Not there best by Richard L. Raines 3 Stars October 28, 2009 Cross Canadian Ragweed's new cd is lacking something, not sure what it is.There last few cd's seem to be lacking something. There last few cd's including the new one seem very generic. The songs seem to sound a lot alike, seems they were written really fast just to put out a record.I love these guy's, don't get me wrong, but it seems to me the fire has really faded lately in the cd's they have recently put out.Maybe time for a new direction in song writing and production.
| | Best yet!! by Mary C. Maitland (Richmond, VA) 5 Stars October 04, 2009 I loved CCR before, but this is above and beyond! The band just continues to grow and is not afraid to explore different avenues of expression. Stephanie Brigg's influence on this CD is obvious and just adds her smoke to their fire.
CCR was already a sexy, suductive band and honestly, the only better live concert I have ever seen was Stevie Ray Vaughn in Memphis on the banks of the Mississippi River, at sundown, during bluesfest. Please understand that CCR is NOT a country band. They are southern rock, as it should have advanced, if it had. Unfortunately, it did not.
Keep it up guys... and gal. I have been in radio limbo the last few years. Country is just too.. "I am so proud if my roots" boring, repetative rhetoric and rock is too depressinly negative, monotone and bordering pychotic right now. This CD is so different. Listen! It will move you!
| | Another Fantastic Album! by Bluerubi (Virginia) 5 Stars September 29, 2009 This long awaited album was pleasantly suprising. Cody and the boys have obviously attempted to expand their horizons with this endeavor, and have succeded in putting together some new innovative sounds with the CCR backbone they are noted for. The influx of piano makes you cock your head, only to realize that this is completely fitting with their platform. I've bought two copies, one for myself and one for my son.

| | Awesome by Buff (BLUEGRASS STATE USA) 5 Stars September 16, 2009 This CD is AWESOME! I enjoy every song on the CD! They are one of the best bands out there. It's a shame that they don't get any radio play.

| Lean Forward by The Bottle Rockets
Lean Forward continues the Rockets' creative resurgence ignited by 2006's Zoysia. Reunited with producer Eric "Roscoe" Ambel, the Bottle Rockets do what no other band does better--look into the hearts and minds and faces of the dying small towns in America and crafts populist anthems with the sympathetic eye of Woody Guthrie and sonic stomp of Crazy Horse. They are songs that demand the windows be rolled down and the volume turned up. And with the hooks, you'll wonder how they make such...

| Big Dreams & High Hopes by Jack Ingram
2009 album from the Country singer/songwriter including the single 'Barefoot And Crazy'. The title track of Jack Ingram's new album, Big Dreams & High Hopes, recalls the dreams of a Houston kid who envisioned a life onstage from the time he first played a guitar. And because Jack sees so many aspiring musicians on the road at his shows, it's become a priority for him to reach out. ''As a musician, it's important for me to reach out to those kids who pick up a guitar and want to play. If I could...
