| The best cd I have ever heard!!!! by De Latte (Parker, Az USA) 5 Stars November 26, 2009 I received my Adam Lambert "For Your Entertainment" CD today!!! What a joy! I am far from being a teenager (66 for the record)I was won over by Adam the first time I heard him on Amer. Idol. He was the greatest voice I had ever heard. This album was so terrific I can't stop listening to it!!! Diana
| | Oh, Adam... by James S. 2 Stars November 26, 2009 ...Adam, Adam, Adam. When you said you'd offer us something "different," I didn't anticipate a generic mash-up of bad 90's boy-band, 80's pop, insufferably boring lyrics and just generally bad music.
I think my greatest disappointment here is that Adam Lambert's astonishing voice--the instrument that won me over on American Idol--is practically non-existent, completely drowned out in an over-synthesized mess. And I just can't get over how astonishingly BLAND this album is. It's music I've heard a thousand times over. There's nothing new here. A few songs show some promise of originality and come close to redemption but don't quite make it. I expected more because I think Adam Lambert is a monumental talent, and can only hope that For Your Entertainment (not sure whose--not mine) is a bump in the road.
| | Fantastic Album! by S. Cody (Cambridge, NY) 5 Stars November 26, 2009 Just got my CD today. I absolutely love it!!! I can't even decide which ones I like the best. Love them all!!!! I hope Adam will be successful because I look forward to a long career and more albums!!!
| | Glamtastik! by Lisa C. 5 Stars November 26, 2009 Adam Lambert's first album takes you on a glittery space journey into many different styles of music. The different styles are tied together through Adam's otherworldly voice and an element of fun. His hope is for people to feel good and want to get up and dance, in which he definitely succeeds!
Fever is probably one of my favorite tracks. Adam brings an attitude and playfulness to this Lady Gaga demo. It's feel good, playful, sexy and has the most catchy beat I've heard in a long time.
Broken Open is my favorite ballad. As Adam sings this ethereal, sensual piece, he speaks to the experience of embracing a loved one in safety as they break open into vulnerable pieces. Simply beautiful and eerily calming.
Music Again is simply fun and reminds me a bit of Queen.
Soaked showcases Adam's otherworldly vocals within beautiful orchestral elements.
Truly, each song on this album gives a different feel and different mood. Fun, interesting, playful, sexy, emotional.....it's all here!
Most importantly, Adam's vocals and ability to bring his heart into each and every song makes this the best album I have heard in a long, long time. I am looking forward to seeing what Adam has in store for us during his long and successful career!
| | Schizophrenic Pop That's Hit or Miss by Jackson T. Nongyow (East Windsor, NJ) 3 Stars November 26, 2009 After listening to the album in its entirety, I conclude that I like exactly half of the songs on this album. There isn't a consistent "sound" to this album, because I can point out that there are three distinct types: dance-pop, rock, and modern pop. With the fourteen tracks, there is unfortunately a lot of filler, and for some reason I did not like any of the slow songs at all. In fact, the last ballad, "Broken Open" seemed excruciatingly long, boring, sleep-inducing, and was devoid of any melody. With that said, the standout tracks for me are as follows, listed in order of most favorite to least: For You Entertainment, If I Had You, Music Again, Whataya Want From Me, Time For Miracles, Aftermath, and Pick U Up.
