I admit I don't do a lot of precision trimming and if I do it does a great job. Forget the "LED guide" I just eyeball it on the line and I'm always dead-on at least 99.9% The blade storage is a big + P.S. Look at my "Customer image" it points out several nice features!

I bought this trimmer because I needed a safe cutter to use at home that can help me out with flyers, brochures, etc. First thing I noticed was that the small paper box that's supposed to contain the blades was empty, but taped up. Note, I bought this unit when it was on sale during Today's Deal or something. Nonetheless, I expected it to be brand new as I don't recall it being sold as a refurbished unit through Amazon.com. The 3 blade units were already inserted to the trimmer casing. This was the first annoyance - if it's a used unit, who knows how much longer each blade would last? During actual usage, I appreciate the different blades in case I want to do some fancy cuts. The problem is that it is hard to line up the cut, as the rubber guide with a line underneath is a bit crooked and not aligned with the actual blade path. In addition, it is a bit hard to hold paper in place unless you use both hands to push down. You would need a 3rd hand to slide the blade across? Overall, it's a nice design in theory with the laser guide. However, it's not very useful...and only worthy on projects that does not require high precision. I won't be using it for professional work.

I needed a cutter to replace my old rotary cutter from Michael's because the blade was getting dull. However, after using this cutter for a few frustrating minutes, I'm probably going to stick with my old cutter. The blade on this cutter is very sharp, leaving very clean cuts on both glossy paper and thick laminated sheets but the problem lies in the way the cutter is designed. As you press down and drag the blade across the rail, the blade simply sways too much. I found it nearly impossible to make a completely straight cut. Of the other features, I found the lit guide to be pretty useless, but the way the blades are stored (there's a slot on the side of the cutter for each extra blade) to be pretty neat. If you want a sharp cutter and don't care that it's really difficult to make straight cuts, this cutter does the job.
