EDITORIAL REVIEWS | Product Description Learners at Mead® Writing Fundamentals Stage 2 (PreK and Up) are developing skills necessary to form their letters and numbers. They continue to cultivate the pencil control and perceptual skills necessary to place the letters and numbers on lined paper. This kit includes four items: Letter Stories™ Lowercase, Letter Stories™ Capital, See and Feel™ Learn to Letter with Guidelines™ Tablet, and Number Stories™. Mead® Writing Fundamentals was developed in partnership with Toni M. Schulken, MS, OTR/L, a pediatric occupational therapist, inventor, president of Pathways for Learning, Inc. (a private pediatric practice and comprehensive learning center), president of Pathways for Learning Products, Inc., a devoted wife, and proud mother of 5 young children. She graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a BA in Child Development: Mental Health Specialist Option in 1990. She earned her MS in Occupational Therapy: Pediatric Tract from Towson University in 1995.She is considered an expert in her field in the areas of handwriting, fine and perceptual motor treatment, and sensory processing disorder. Toni has worked with more than 850 children in public schools, private schools, hospitals, private therapy clinics, and in their homes. She speaks regionally in North Carolina to teachers, parents, and occupational therapists on the subjects of sensory integration and hand-writing, and beginning in 2008 will be teaching occupational therapy continuing education courses nationally in the area of screening, evaluation, and treating handwriting deficits using a multi-sensory and perceptual motor approach. |
