AMAZING! by Linda Fitzsimons (Columbus, OH) 5 Stars

I bought Zymox for my daughter's golden retriever that she had recently rescued. He had a mild ear infection (brown waxy build up in one ear)that did not seem to bother him but the vet thought needed treated. She came home with a cleaner and prescription ear drops. The cleaner turned his ears bright red and the drops did not seem to be taking care of the brown waxy buildup. In fact his ears began to bother him (rubbing, scratching his head)and we could see the vet's treatment was making a mild situation bad. I found Zymox on the internet and read the rave reviews. I ordered a 4 oz bottle and within 2 days of treating him, his ears were SO MUCH BETTER! After a week of morning/evening treatment, his ears are white, no wax, no redness and have stayed that way for a month. Only wish I had known about this product for my past goldens. Another plus: my order was shipped by Absolutely Pets - they sent me four 1.25 oz bottles for the price of one 4 oz bottle. I got another ounce for free and since the bottles are sealed, only have to open as needed. Has a good 2 year outdate too! Cant beat that!

This was my first bottle and I'm happy with the results (both of my Golden Retrievers are too). Get a big bottle, if your dog has floppy ears you'll probably go through 4 zo. pretty quickly.

When are most of you going to wake up to the fact, Much like your very own physicians . Vets are in business. No I am not saying there evil monsters, but your animals health and happiness is the least of there concerns. Just like your physicians feeling about your health.Like any businessman's concern, it is there bottom line.Vets have tried to convince the Public of all kinds of nonsense about Animal care. How many of you have been convinced that Raw meat and uncooked bones are some how bad for your Canine, but that Corn based dog foods are good for your Carnivorous Canine. Gee I wonder how the Canine species managed to survive with out all these vegetable based dog foods during there Evolution. That raw meat will make a dog sick. Same kind thinking needed on that concept, were did all these cooked foods come from and how did Canines manage to survive before them. The issue most of you are having with your dogs ears are not primary Bacterial infections. The cause is Fungal in 95% of your dogs ear issues. The bacterial infection is secondary. That yeasty smell is Fungal not Bacterial.Try this just rub a small amount of athletes foot crème into your dogs ears. Don't use a Q-tip or anything to enter the canal. Use half a dime size blob. It works great. Now some of you might also have to use an antibiotic to get rid of the secondary infection. Once the ears are clear, use the crème as a preventative or the zymox ( don't use them together) Sometimes a Dogs ear chronic ear infections are actually a paradox. the chronic infections are being caused by over zealous owners incessant cleaning. They vigorously scrub the natural wax out of the dogs ears allowing any water that collects to irritate the animals delicate ear tissue. It is no accident that wax collects in mammals ears. the wax acts as water proofing.Dip a piece of paper in melted wax, let it dry and then try dipping it in water. You will quickly see how the action of wax in our ears protects us from the moisture that may collect in these small body openings. It is then a simple matter to see, how water soaked irritated red swollen tissue combined with over zealous cleaning , causes scraping of the delicate ear tissue allowing bacteria to enter the abrasions, hence infection.Just so there are no misunderstanding. I am not saying there are not times when vetinary care is not needed.I have found that the Zmox, helps restore the natural healthy flora that coats the inside of the canine ear. Did you happen to notice that the instructions state that you are not to clean or put any water in the ears during treatment. That's to allow the natural wax coating to rebuild in the Canal. Stay away from your Dogs Ear canals unless there is an obstruction or infection. By all means clean the inside of there ear flaps and the large outer lobes, but leave that wax in the canals( ear holes) alone. It is there to protect the canals. An owner just has to learn the difference between the way a healthy canine ear smells and a sick one. I like Zmox, but I firmly believe if owners would learn proper animal husbandry, there would be far less of a market for gimmicks and over priced vet visits.Canines Ears do not smell like Human Ears. There ears have a waxy odor. That does not mean they are infected or dirty and that most definaltley does not mean they need to be cleaned. If there are no signs of red swollen tissue or a yeasty smell or foul smelling discharge or crust or mites, simply wipe there inner flaps and outer ridegs with a dry cotton ball or one that has been dampened with Novasan ear cleaner. Just damp( wring out before use). Try not to allow any water to enter the canal. If there does seem to be a yeasty odor, try a blob of the antifunagl creme, Dont insert Q tips or other objects into the canal. You do not want to abrade the canal. That is a door way for infection.Healthy dogs ears do not stink( Foul) or smell like beer or bread ( yeast ) A healthy canine ear does have an odor. A musky waxy smell. It will smell like a much stonger version of your own ear wax.It is critical you learn the diffrence between Oh thats just what a dogs ear smells like and Oh thats not right. I believe it comes down to ,owners having over sensitive nose's regarding what they consider foul smelling. There is smelling like a canine and then there is foul smelling. There in lies much of the problem .

I actually used this product on my dogs ears for 7 days and it seemed to work. Though I think maybe I should have used it longer seems he still shakes his ears a bit so I think a longer treatment for what he has may have been better. But yes the product seemed to have done a fairly good job meaning I did not go to the vet and get the vet bill. So what I am saying its a hit or miss type thing. I think Its a great product but I should maybe have done a little longer time! This of course does not mean for your dog with whatever type ear infection the dog has iot would not work in the 7 days! It probably would! It is working!

Finally, a cure for my Yellow Lab's constant ear problems! by V. Sallustio (Woolwich Township, NJ United States) 5 Stars

This is a Vet's worst nightmare! How so? This stuff is cheap ($[...]), you don't need a prescription, and it works! This will take so much money out of the vet's pockets, that they will never tell you about it. My Yellow Lab has suffered from chronic ear problems for 9 years. But this last problem seemed to be the worst. After numerous vets visits ($[...] a pop) and numerous refills of that Otomax or Gentizol crap at $[...] a pop, there was no improvement. In fact, I would say the ears got worse. Luckily, I keep in touch with some of my dog's littermates' owners. One of them suggested this stuff. I was skeptical because it was cheap and did not need a prescription. Well, the ears cleared up in less than 1 week! Why don't the vets tell you about this stuff? This stuff is amazing! Do yourself a favor. If your dog has ear problems, use this stuff. First clean the ears with ear cleaning solution to get the crud out. Then dry them as best as possible with several Q tips. Then put this stuff in once a day. If you do this, your problems will be solved, and you can take the the savings an go out to dinner, or buy a bunch of toys for you dog, or even take a vacation in some cases. And as far as those crooks, er vets. I am going to spread the word, since they won't.
