My mentor has been a hypnotherapist since 1975 and I recently spoke to her about fears of upcoming dental work. She didn't have time to get together and hypnotize me or burn a CD for me due to family emergency issues, but she bought this for me at THIRTY DOLLARS!
I've been using hypnosis, in person and on tape and CD, for over twenty years, with great success. But this CD came in a cheap little case with no graphic, and the hypnotist went on and on and on with the worst induction I've ever heard. The ocean waves were so loud they were annoying, and the hypnotist was so boring my mind wandered.
When he gets to the part about dental work, all he does is tell the listener they are going to a well-schooled, credentialed professional, as if that's supposed to address fear of anticipation, fear of claustrophobia, fear of gagging, and other issues commonly related to dental work.
The rest of the session is simply suggestions that the listener not need to remember what was said. I wish I hadn't, but the hypnotist is apparently such a novice he couldn't even get me to forget the drivel he calls hypnotherapy.
This is just a bad CD. If you want help with dental phobias, find Dean Montalbano. He's at hypnodean dot com, and produces a well-done, useful program.
Avoid this! I feel so bad that my friend spend thirty dollars on something that shouldn't have cost a dime.
