Great teaser for the book; pretty cool poster by E. M. Van Court (Honolulu, Hawai'i, USA) 4 Stars
May 12, 2008
IntelCenter is teasing us shamelessly with this poster. I understand that this is a teaser for a book with four to five times as many symbols and logos that is in the works. If you have any involvement in research into terrorist groups or media, this is a great tool until the book comes out, though. 41 different terrorist organization graphics extracted from terrorist video and other publications are shown as clearly as the original resolution allows. It provides a great starting point for studies of their iconics, or as an aid to identification of the sponsor of a publication for those of us who are not fluent in Arabic. When the book comes out, this will still be handy to have over the desk, rather than thumbing through pages of very similar graphics. There is a lot of insight to be gained from these graphics. The use of different guns, buildings, color, and other aspects sends very distinct messages about the origins and goals of these unclean troublemakers. And, of course, having this poster displayed prominently in your office sends a very clear meassage about your craft and focus, and lends a dose of the 'old hand' image. And I'm really looking forward to the book. (Review of a copy given to me by IntelCenter) E.M. Van Court
