BioTutor is the worst educational software I have ever purchased. I trusted the reviews that were posted and was a total fool for doing so. It is simply pretest questions with written explanations if you need them. I can't believe they consider this interactive. I could get this from doing the pretests in the back of my book. I will be sending this software back!

The product once installed looks like its from 1990, and all it does is quiz you. It doesn't really explain anything and it's not very interactive. [...]

Our BioTutor® Excalibur software includes biology tutorials in each of the following 24 subject areas: 1. Inorganic Chemistry 2. Biochemistry 3. Cells (Organelles) 4. Cells (Plasma Membrane) 5. Bioenergetics 6. Mitosis & Meiosis 7. Classical (Mendelian) Genetics 8. Human Genetics 9. DNA Structure & Replication 10. RNA & Protein Synthesis 11. Origin of Life & Evolution 12. Bacteria, Viruses & Protists 13. Invertebrates 14. Vertebrates 15. Skeletal, Muscular & Integumentary Systems 16. Digestion & Absorption 17. Circulatory, Respiratory & Immune Systems 18. Renal System (Kidneys) 19. Nervous System 20. Endocrine System (Hormones) 21. Reproduction & Development 22. Fungi & Non-Vascular Plants 23. Vascular Plants 24. Ecology It's not an attractive program. You'd have to be a science geek to find this "fun." But it's useful for review and complements a lass well. On top of that-- it sure does beat writing a million index cards!

Just ask questions and give answers. If you don't already know the subject matter asking questions does not tutor you.

I also bought this software after all the good reviews and thought that for $30 it must be really great and interactive. I was sorely dissapointed when I installed it and all it is is pretty much a test. There is no interactive learning at all, only an "explanation" of the answer to the question. This is something that I would hesitate to pay $5 for. I do not see where all these great reviews came from.
