I'm a college student and at my computer class I had a Java project. Teacher gave me some ideas what I can do to earn A+ for this project :) and I decided to buy this set. I'm very satisfy with my purchase. I've got what I paid for and didn't have to go to the public library trying to find and systematize all materials. Took some time to go through all the dvds, but eventually I have A+ for my Java project:))) Cool set!

This set is very helpful. I am an amateur Java programmer and do it in my free time out of curiosity and love to technology. Few weeks ago I also completed their C/C++ course (with is very good).
Must say to me Java is much more convoluted creation (than C) both for language and the tools. If not this set, I would probably drop an idea of getting into Java, because number of issues that a beginner must to cope with is overwhelming (not only you must learn the language itself, but also a development environment and the ways it suggests). This set really helps by helping with first things first. The training is very well organized. The textbook on DVD is much more helpful than any paper book as it contains instant links to relevant topics and allows navigate quickly. I also copied it to my SD card and read on my laptop and cellphone when on a train. It also contains free internet updates.
I purchased some books (4) on Java, but found that 2 of them contained blatant errors. Other two are extremely hard to follow as all examples to be retyped and contain typos. It is very frustrating for a beginner like myself to deal with typos as it takes skills (which I'm apparently lacking) and steals an attention from the actual subject. It is like debugging a code of the language I haven't learned yet. I was so mad with some of the code examples that were willing to burn the book and dance on the ashes!
I liked this set a lot. It contains everything I needed and apparently was composed by people who know their stuff. You can find things for learning on internet here and there, but if you actually intend learn something you will appreciate this set. The videos on IDE are very simple, straightforward and easy to follow. Must say again, the text in this set is first class, and it makes learning Java language much easier. I used all three installs (for Linux, Windows, Mac) and installed Ubuntu from the disk in the set. Learning it in Linux feels really cool. As I have no intention to become "pro"level programmer I went trough the training selectively, but still this set provided the approach and level of competence that no book I have tried could deliver. It shows you things that other failed. It also contains some more advanced subjects, both in text and video, but those are definitely way beyond me. Great set, smartly done, very inexpensive and takes away every trouble in which beginner will unavoidably run otherwise.
