| Made me fall in love with weight training by Leanne (San Diego, CA) 5 Stars October 18, 2009 I'd always dabbled a bit with weight training in the past, but this workout was what got me serious about lifting weights when I first bought it about three years ago. Before then, I would lift weights at the gym every now and again, but never really enjoyed it too much. When I decided to start working out exclusively at home, this workout was the first advanced weight-training DVD I bought, and Cathe's wonderful personality and great form pointers turned me from a cardio junkie into a weight-lifting junkie.
Like other reviewers have mentioned, you need a lot of equipment to do Cathe F.'s workouts, but once you have the equipment, her workouts are top-notch, and this is another phenomenal workout.
Since this workout hits every major muscle group, it's a good workout to use if you're new to lifting weights or if you're starting to get more serious about weight lifting, as I was. After doing this workout two to three times a week for a few months, I then bought her three Gym Styles DVD's, which are more advanced than Muscle Max since they split the body parts into separate workouts.
Cathe is my favorite DVD workout instructor, and I can't recommend this workout highly enough. Her videos are more expensive than other instructors, but they are definitely worth it! The variety of premixes you get and the outstanding production qualities make all her workout DVD's fantastic.

| | Great product for the price by Toad 5 Stars September 11, 2009 I love working out with Cathe! And this DVD didn't disappoint me! It's challenging and fun all the way through. Additionally, you can choose to do the entire work out or segments of it if you're short on time. That's a very nice feature! I recommend this DVD to anyone wanting to step up their workout routine and challenge themselves.

I only have the band and dumbells (not the step or barbell requested) and have been able to complete the workout pretty well. I am a really big fan of Les Mills' Body Pump class at the gym, but have recently moved to an area where that class is not available. This is the best alternative I've been able to find for that class!

Core Max is a 60 minute workout that is broken down into the following segments. Feel free to pick and choose anyone of the segments and do them 3 times per week. These segments feature some new moves which may feel very different to you at first. Once you see the move, try the move, and get acclimated to it, you will really maximize the benefits of the workouts.
