Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs 4ply comprises of 2 non-woven textile layers, which encapsulate a specially formulated cross-linked polyacrylate polyalcohol co-polymer refrigerant combined with a post treated trade secret formula. An additional 2 heavy duty plastic layers, containing a one-way microperforation technology are bonded to the textile layers. This ensures that this new model can withstand the harshest of operational climates with performance that can only be described as revolutionary. * "Re-usable dry ice?" A remarkable leap forward in ice pack technology utilising a cross-linked polyacrylate polymer that can be frozen right down to minus 190C (that's more than twice as cold as dry ice!).Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs is often frozen in blast freezers to minus 80C when used in dry ice applications. New Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs HDR model can be used very successfully even when frozen in domestic household freezers. Techni Ice reusable dry ice packs / gel packs will freeze between minus 18C and minus 21C when the freezer is adjusted to the maximum setting. Techni Ice Instructions: 1.To hydrate your Techni Ice faster use warm water. 2.Keep Techni Ice fully immersed whilst hydrating the cells as water enters from both sides to activate polymer. 3.Scrunch sheets between hands while fully immersed in warm water until the air bubbles have escaped and cells have commenced hydration. Your Techni Ice is ready to use. Techni Ice Usage Tips-HDR Model Your techni ice sheets should start frozen and a gradual cold transfer will take place which slowly transfers the cold energy from techni ice into the perishables and drinks ,etc. which will eventually leave the Techni Ice cells in the softer state and the perishables and drinks icy cold for a long period . You will note that the Techni Ice cells still retain significant chill factor even in the eventual softer state. |

I have had Techni-ice in the past and it is a wonderful product. It is clean, there are no possibilities for leakage, they freeze quickly and keep food cold for days in my cooler. I often have frozen food at the bottom of my cooler after 2 or 3 days using Techni-ice. I recommend these highly to anyone that camps, hunts, fishes or tailgates. I loved them so much, I recently purchased an additional 12 sheets. It is a fantastic product.

I've been using the techni-ice for a couple years, and have had no complaints. I found out about it after buying a polar bear cooler ([...]) which are unbelievable and the best cooler I've found (look it up on [...]). Their coolers can also be used to store medications, so you know that they have to be good.
Any ice pack is only as good as the container it is used in. All will fail quickly if used in a poorly constructed or cheap cooler. That being said, using the techni-ice with a polar bear cooler is the way to go.
The techni-ice does feel a little "slimy" sometimes if it thaws completely out, but it isn't that big a deal and it rinses right off. I've never really had the techni-ice get to that point, because by that time the trip is over and the techni-ice gets thrown back in the freezer.
If you haven't tried a polar bear cooler, get one and some of the techni-ice to go with it. You won't be dissappointed.

We bought some of these techni ice about 9 years ago and they wore out from use.We loved them so much I needed to get them again. So handy to have to throw in a bag for water,pop anything.Very useful and a money saver,no need to buy ice.Great item.

This product was recommended to me by a friend for Burning Man (a 7-day campout in Nevada, over Labor Day weekend..translation: it's HOT) as some sort of miracle product. I bought some, and in general it works ok for short day trips around temperate climates...but it performed poorly in more extreme environments. I wouldn't try it for Burning Man, but I keep a sheet or two around to throw in my small cooler for picnics.
Also: When these things unfreeze, they get SLIMY. It's really gross. I'd almost rather deal with clean, cold cooler water than with a coolerful of slimy Techni Ice packs.
