| the absolute worst birthday present!! by K. Delgado (california) 1 Stars August 05, 2009 i bought this planetarium as a gift to my nephew on his birthday. It never lit up or anything. I bought it through a third party ( not shipped by amazon directly) and they refuse to help me because its been a few days over 30 days. All I have to say is that for the price, it is cheap, and ugly looking. And since it came defective, I would strongly DISCOURAGE anyone from buying it...Now I gotta buy another planetarium...:(
| | Disappointed by J. Stewart (California) 2 Stars July 22, 2009 I had a product similar to this when I was a kid and wanted something I could show in a controlled environment. I thought it would be better and was excited when it arrived. The light seemed bright enough for me and the machine seems durable but the projection itself is not great. The stars show up as large dots on the ceiling until you get it a couple feet from the ceiling. I tried to pick out some easy constellations such as the big dipper but couldn't even make it out at all among the dots. I wouldn't recommend this product if you want a good educational tool to teach about the stars.
| | My grandson really likes this toy by M. Broadbent 3 Stars May 31, 2009 I gave this to my 11 year old grandson for his birthday. He is thrilled that he can see all the stars on his ceiling. However, I am disappointed in the focus. He cannot see the stars clearly.
| | planitarium by Ganny (Tatum, TX. USA) 4 Stars January 14, 2009 I have not seen this but am told that the child who was the recipient is WOWED by it. I was disappointed that the company apparently ignored my request that it be sent to an address other than the one ordering it, and in so doing he did not receive it until AFTER Christmas because it was sent to me causing me to have to repackage and pay postage to send it on to recipient.
I would have liked to have known more about the quality of construction of materials used in the kit.
| | Not very accurate by JDE (Green River, WY USA) 1 Stars January 10, 2009 I was dissappointed with the product because the stars projected are all the same size and look like a dot. Part of learning to identify constellations is how the different stars appear grouped together in their pattern. How can you distinguish anything if all the dots are the same? I don't understand going to the trouble of making the product so specific if the projection fails.
