| best for really young children...not much to it... by researchbeforeyoubuy (Rowlettt, TX United States) 2 Stars March 10, 2009 I was really disappointed. My 6 year old thinks it's neat, but doesn't understand how limited the learning possibilities are for him. The box claimed 10 different experiments. They are primarily about mixing colors...so not as educational as we'd hoped for. There is one about hot vs. cold water activity with the colors, one using milk and another one with the crystals...the rest are basically just color mixing. So I'd say really about 3, just OK experiments. Knowing this I think it's not worth over $5...if you can get one that cheap and you're children are young, then it's worth it. Otherwise, it's a waste of time and money.
| | Fun for Kids/Cheap for Adults by Heidi B 3 Stars January 13, 2009 I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old son. I read many of the reviews and decided it was an easily packaged few hours of fun. It was what many described...basic and low quality. But in the end, my son has enjoyed playing with it.
| | My 8 year old niece loved it by A. Gross (Phila, PA USA) 4 Stars November 13, 2008 My 8 year old niece loved it. She started doing experiments with it right away, with all the excitement of her other birthday gifts.
| | Fun and Educational by J. Fairley 4 Stars October 24, 2008 My 8 year old and 4 year old kids had a blast with this science kit. They learned much from the experience and quoted some of their findings when we made hot cocoa a few days later.
| | Lot's of fun by W. Platt 5 Stars September 07, 2008 My five year old likes this kit a lot. It's a great example of how primary colors mix together to make other colors. He puts on science shows for all of his friends.
